TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA BIDS AND PURCHASES COMMITTEE Monday, November 2, 2020 Municipal Complex, Council Chambers 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 Minutes Members Present: Howard Chapman, Chair; Gary Santos, Tom O’Rourke Staff Present: Eric DeMoura, Marcy Cotov 1. Mr. Chapman called the meeting to order at 8:43 a.m. 2. Approval of Minutes from the August 31, 2020 meeting Mr. Santos moved for approval; seconded by Mr. O’Rourke. All present voted in favor. 3. Public Comments - None 4. Award of contract for mast arm traffic signal installation on Chuck Dawley Boulevard (SC 526 Business) at Myrick Road Ms. Cotov presented the following slide. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Walker Brothers, Inc., in the amount of two hundred sixteen thousand, seven hundred eighty-three and Bids and Purchases November 2, 2020 Page 2 16/100 dollars ($216,783.16) to install the mast arm traffic signal at Chuck Dawley Road at Myrick Road. Mr. O’Rourke moved to approve; seconded by Mr. Santos. There was discussion between Committee and staff. All present voted in favor. 5. Award of contract for the Rifle Range Park Trails Construction Ms. Cotov presented the following slide Staff recommended awarding the contract to Rakes Building and Maintenance Contractors, LLC, DBA Blutide Marine, in the amount of one hundred thirty-eight thousand, six hundred forty-five and 69/100 dollars ($138,645.69) to construct the Rifle Range Park Trail. Mr. Santos moved to approve; seconded by Mr. O’Rourke. There was discussion between Committee and staff. All present voted in favor. 6. Award of contract for floor replacement at Fire Station 3 and Fire Station 5 Ms. Cotov presented the request for floor replacement at Fire Station 3 and Fire Station 5. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Flooring Solutions, Inc., in the amount of one hundred thousand, two hundred eighty-one and 00/100 dollars ($100,281.00) to replace the flooring at Fire Station #3 and #5. Bids and Purchases November 2, 2020 Page 3 Mr. Santos moved to approve; seconded by Mr. O’Rourke. There was discussion between Committee, staff, and Chief Mixon. All present voted in favor. 7.
