TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA COMMERCIAL DESIGN REVIEW BOARD SEPTEMBER 29, 2021 MINUTES STAFF REPORT Present: Rick Lambert, Chair, Tara Spencer, Chris McCarthy, William O'Neal, Andre Bellerjeau Absent: Steve Magoon, Ian Duncan. Staff: Peter Stone, Jane Yager-Baumrind Mr. Lambert called the meeting to order at 5:02pm A. Approval of Agenda Mr. McCarthy moved to approve the agenda. Ms. Spencer seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of Minutes Mr. McCarthy moved to approve the minutes. Ms. Spencer seconded the motion. All in favor. C. General Public Comment There being no comments, Mr. Lambert continued with the agenda. D. General Correspondence – All correspondence was linked to the agenda and distributed to the Board. E. Consent Motions Ms. Tara Spencer moved to approve the following items for consent: ➢ Belle Station Master Sign Program, 545 Belle Station Blvd., 556-00-00-384, Final Review of Signage ➢ The Now, 1421 Shucker Circle, 532-11-00-146, Final Review of Architecture Mr. Richard Lambert seconded the motion. Shem Creek Boutique Hotel, Mill Street, 517-16-00-058,057, 034, 035, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture This item was withdrawn by staff. 2. Northcutt Plaza, 280 W. Coleman, 517-00-00-071 &517-00-00-060, Final Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Stone reviewed staff comments with the Board. Mr. Brian Worst, architect, reviewed the project with the Board. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment. Ms. Spencer moved for approval with investigation of the center parapet. Mr. O’Neal seconded the motion. All in favor. 3. Beacon Community Bank, 2347 N Highway 17, 580-14-00-003,004,005 &007, Preliminary Review of Site, Landscape, and Architecture Mr. Peter Stone reviewed staff comments with the Board. Mr. Vince Sottile and Mr. Clark Bradshaw reviewed the project with the Board. There being no comments, Mr. Lambert closed public comment. Ms. Spencer moved for preliminary approval with the applicant addressing all staff and Board comments, with approval of a 50 foot natural roadside buffer. Mr. O’Neal seconded the motion.
