Members Present: Jake Rambo, Chairman;
Howard Chapman (via Teams),
Gary Santos, Brenda Corley
Staff Present: Eric DeMoura, Marcy Cotov
1. Mr. Rambo called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.
2. Approval of Minutes from the May 2, 2022 meeting
Mr. Chapman moved to approve; seconded by Mr. Santos. All
present voted in favor.
3. Public Comments
Kevin Cunnane – 3032 River Vista Way – Regarding item 5 - the
CARTA budget. He stated he has been driving around for a few
years and noticed that CARTA busses are always empty. Why are
we paying tons of money into this? They are a Walmart worker
shuttle, which he understands, but Walmart should fund it. We need
to take a deep dive into their budget. He stated they spend a lot of
money on publicity and consultants. He would like the Committee to
look at those two items on the CARTA budget.
Will Haynie- 316 Mallard Court – He stated he has been on the
CARTA board for 5 years. He stated that there is no money that
comes from the Town to CARTA. It is paid for at the County level
and done with grants. CARTA operates the busses in Mount
Pleasant for the good of the Town. The busses are empty a lot of the
time. The Committee is supposed to say they have seen the budget
and whether the Committee wants to approve it, but it does not
involve any money that comes from the Town.
4. Employee and Special Recognitions
Ms. Cotov recognized Ronald Hughes as the employee of the month.

Ms. Cotov recognized Aaron Senter as the GIS representative for
receiving the SAG Award for the Town of Mount Pleasant. Ms. Cotov
also recognized Frankie Pettit, who led the team, along with Toni
Herman and new GIS team member, Tara Hall.
5. Discussion and potential action with regard to CARTA
proposed budget

There was discussion between Committee and staff.
Mr. Santos moved to approve; seconded by Ms. Corley.
Motion passed 3-0-1. Mr. Chapman abstained.
6. Adjourn
There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 11:23 a.m.
