TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA GREEN COMMISSION JUNE 20, 2023 MINUTES PowerPoint Presentation Present: Susan Johnson, Andrea Martin, Lia Colabello, David Quick, Rachel Honderd, Olivia Flynn, Mary Conley, Angus MacBride (entered at 5:35 pm), Jim Westerhold (entered at 5:35 pm). Staff: Mayor Will Haynie, Michele Reed, Brad Morrison, David Pagliarini, Andy Weis, Liz Boyles, Chris Lubert, James Ward, Kevin Mitchell, John Farrell, Marissa Noble, Julie Wright, Lynnette Lynes Mr. Lubert called the meeting to order at 5:32 pm. A. Election of Temporary Chairperson Ms. Honderd moved to appoint David Quick as chair for this meeting. Ms. Flynn seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of Agenda Mr. Quick moved for approval of the agenda. Ms. Johnson seconded the motion. All in favor. Mr. Westerhold and Mr. MacBride entered at this time (5:35 pm). C. Mayor’s Welcome Mayor Haynie welcomed the Commission and thanked them for their service on the Commission. He reviewed the premise for establishing the Commission. D. Public Comment There being no public comment, Mr. Quick continued with the agenda.  GREEN Commission June 20, 2023 Page 2 of 3 E. Introductions Staff introduced themselves to the Commission and the public. The Commission introduced themselves to the public. F. Legal Procedures G. Approve Rules of Procedure/Bylaws Mr. Pagliarini reviewed the legal procedures with the Commission including attorney/client privilege, FOIA, and Rules of Procedure for the Commission. Ms. Honderd moved for approval of the Rules of Procedure. Mr. MacBride seconded the motion. All in favor. H. Explanation of Town Processes, Boards & Commissions Ms. Boyles reviewed the different Boards and Commissions and Town processes with the Commission including the Comprehensive Plan Enabling Act and the project review process. I. Discussion & Possible Adoption of Mission Statement Mr. Lubert reviewed draft mission statements for consideration and adoption with the Commission. Ms. Boyles asked that any recommendations be sent to staff by Friday, July 7th to be compiled and then sent to the Commission prior to the next meeting. The Commission agreed to defer adoption of the mission statement to the next meeting. J. 516 Coleman Mr. Morrison reviewed the 516 Coleman project with the Commission as an example of the Town’s conservation efforts. The Commission provided comments and suggestions to enhance the project.  GREEN Commission June 20, 2023 Page 3 of 3 K. Set Meeting Schedule Ms. Boyles reviewed future meeting dates and times with the Commission. Mr. Westerhold moved to schedule future meetings for the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3 pm as noted on the annual meeting schedule. Mr. MacBride seconded the motion. All in favor.
