TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA GREEN COMMISSION DECEMBER 5, 2023 MINUTES PowerPoint Presentation Present: David Quick, Chair, Susan Johnson, Andrea Martin, Lia Colabello, Angus MacBride, Rachel Honderd, Jim Westerhold, Mary Conley. Absent: Olivia Flynn. Staff: Eric DeMoura, Christiane Farrell, Michele Reed, Brad Morison, Liz Boyles, Chris Lubert, Kevin Mitchell, Julie Wright, Russell Walker, Adam Hutton, Marissa Noble, Claire O’Loughlin, John Farrell, Shannon Whitehead, Lynnette Lynes Also: Nathan Slaughter, ESP Associates Mr. Quick called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm. A. Approval of Agenda Ms. Johnson moved for approval of the agenda. Ms. Honderd seconded the motion. All in favor. B. Approval of October Minutes Ms. Johnson moved for approval of the minutes. Ms. Conley seconded the motion. All in favor. C. Public Comment Mr. Daniel Brownstein thanked the Commission for their service. He suggested that changes on single use plastics should be considered to ensure that the spirit of the ordinance is maintained. There being no further comments, Mr. Quick continued with the agenda. D. Update on Slab-On Grade/ Residential LID Motion Mr. Lubert provided an update on the recommendations for slab on grade and LID with the Commission.  GREEN Commission December 5, 2023 Page 2 of 2 E. Environmental Initiatives Logo & Commercial LID Program Signs Ms. Wright reviewed the logo and Low Impact Development (LID) program signs with the Commission. The Commission discussed the proposed logos and provided feedback. Ms. Wright stated that the recommendations would be forwarded to the graphic designer to make changes. F. Hazard Mitigation Plan Mr. Slaughter reviewed the hazard mitigation plan with the Commission. The Commission discussed the hazard mitigation plan and what changes should be considered. G. Open Discussion of what to expect for New Year and Direction Ms. Boyles reviewed proposed topics for discussion for upcoming meetings with the Commission. The Commission discussed several topics that should be discussed for next year including the following: ➢ Ponds ➢ Public education ➢ Trees ➢ Program monitoring ➢ Pedestrian and bike ➢ Code enforcement improvements ➢ Affordable housing ➢ Renewable energy initiatives ➢ Climate action plan The Commission discussed moving the meeting date and time. Ms. Boyles stated that she would send an email to the Commission on different meeting times. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:38 pm. Submitted by, L.
