TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA HISTORICAL COMMISSION MEETING January 10, 2019 MINUTES Green arrows in minutes are hyperlinks to the recording Present: Richard Gutowski, chair, Alisha Davenport, Lonnie Doles, Brittany Lavelle-Tulla, Patrick Morrissey Absent: Marc Fountain Staff: Kate Dolan, Lynnette Lynes, Jane Yager-Baumrind Mr. Gutowski calls meeting to order at 8:01 am. I. Introduce New Member Mr. Gutowski introduced Ms. Davenport as the newest member to the Commission. II. Approval of Agenda Mr. Morrissey moved for approval of the agenda. Ms. Brittany Lavelle-Tulla second the motion. All in favor. III. Approval of Minutes Mr. Lonnie Doles moved for approval of the minutes. Ms. Brittany Lavelle-Tulla second the motion. All in favor. IV. Public Comment There being no comment, Mr. Gutowski continued with the agenda. V. Elections The Commission voted by secret ballot to elect Mr. Gutowski as chair, and Mr. Morrissey as vice-chair.  Historical Commission January 10, 2019 Page 2 of 2 VI. Bylaws Mr. Morrissey moved to approve the bylaws as presented. Mr. Lonnie Doles seconded the motion. All in favor. VII. Finalize Historical Marker Text The Commission agreed to defer review of the text to the next meeting. VIII. Committee Report Ms. Lavelle-Tulla reviewed her committee report with the Commission. Mr. Doles reviewed his committee report with the Commission. Ms. Lynes updated the Commission on the Black History Month schedule. Mr. Morrissey moved for approval of the amended Black History Month schedule as presented. Mr. Doles seconded the motion. All in favor. Mr. Morrissey reviewed his committee report with the Commission. Mr. Morrissey moved to authorize restoration of the 1948-1961 minutes books as quoted by the Library Society. , Ms. Lavelle-Tulla seconds. All in favor. IX.
