TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, SOUTH CAROLINA MOUNT PLEASANT YOUTH COUNCIL Thursday, February 20, 2020 6:00 PM Mount Pleasant Municipal Complex Council Chambers 100 Ann Edwards Lane, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 Ms. Sims called to order at 6:13 p.m. Ms. Josie Massanet, Ms. Eliza Taylor, Mr. McClain Stoklosa, Mr. Chad Weis, Ms. Isabel Raykova, Mr. Walker Carswell, Ms. Amy Lorentzos-Lobo, Mr. Ethan Curb, Ms. Cally DeMoura and Mr. Myles Chisolm were all present. Ms. Abby Sullivan and Ms. Isabelle Turner arrived at 6:15 p.m. 1. Public Comments There were no public comments. Ms. Massenet moved to amend the agenda to move item two to item four, seconded by Ms. Taylor. All present voted in favor. Mr. Stoklosa moved to approve the amended agenda, seconded by Ms. Taylor. All present voted in favor. 2. Approval of the minutes from the January 16, 2020 meeting Ms. DeMoura moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Ms. Massenet. All present voted in favor. 3. Update and discussion on priority projects Ms. Sims introduced Ms. Rebecca Imholz with the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Imholz gave a brief overview of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and asked how they could assist the Youth Council. Some suggestions were resume building, going through an interview process, how to grow a business, internship opportunities, life skills, how to relate academics to the real world and time management.  Ms. Sims presented the Youth Council priority projects list, gave an update on progress and discussion was held. 4. Election of Chair and Vice-Chair Ms. Sims handed a ballot to each of the Youth Council Members and asked them to vote a Chair and Vice-Chair. Ms. Sims tallied the votes and announced that Ms. Josie Massenet was elected as the Chair and Ms. Abby Sullivan was elected as the Vice-Chair. Ms. Sims stated the next meeting would be March 19, 2020. 5.
