Mayor Hyman called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and announced a quorum present.

Report on Items of Community Interest
Mayor Hyman reported One Act Play are 3A State Champions and Runner-Up for Theatre Team(all school
division).
Propositions A & B passed and MVISD will be getting some severely passed due renovations, this is good for our
community.
Citizen Participation
B F Hicks reported that the highest lithium levels are here in Northeast Texas, near Talco, Texas.
Mr. Hicks and Mr. Truesdale have been meeting with NY Times, Wall Street Journal, MP Tribune, Texas
Conservation and multiple other professional reporters to get the story out about the solar farms.
Public Hearing
The purpose of this hearing is to hear evidence for or against a request made by Asher Mt Vernon, LLC to re-plat
the property located at 315 TX Hwy 37 South in Mt. Vernon, Texas.
Mayor Hyman closed the Regular Session at 6:16 p.m. and opened the Public Hearing.
Richard Hinson with Asher Mt Vernon, LLC spoke to the request and asked Council to approve the combining of
two lots into one.
No one spoke against the request.
Mayor Hyman closed the Public Hearing at 6:18 p.m. and re-opened the Regular Session.

Water, Sewer, Streets, Park, Sidewalks, Grants, next workshop discussions (City Admin)
City Administrator Lindholm disclosed that the sludge press we ordered is at the wastewater treatment plant and
being wired in, we are close to being up and running, the Nila and Rutherford sewer replacement line will be
another three weeks before it is completed, the maintenance department will be getting a new sewer jet machine,
the HOME Program two new homes construction will begin by the end of the month, Peoples Telephone will be
upgrading the downtown wifi to get a stronger signal for events in the downtown area.

The City Council will have an opportunity to address items of community interest, including: expressions of thanks,
congratulations, or condolence; information regarding holiday schedules; an honorary or salutary recognition of a
public official, public employee, or other citizen; a reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by
the City of Mount Vernon; information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored
by an entity other than the City of Mount Vernon that was attended or is scheduled to be attended by a member of
the City Council or an official or employee of the City of Mount Vernon; and announcements involving an imminent
threat to the public health and safety of people in the City of Mount Vernon that has arisen after posting the agenda.
Citizen Participation (3 minutes)
The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter
to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific information. Claims against the City,
