Mayor Hyman lead the invocation and pledges to the American and Texas flags.
No one spoke in Citizen Participation.
Discussion Items and Mayor/Council/City Administrator Reports
1. Budget 2021-2022 HOT fund requests
HOT fund requests were discussed first, at this time the proposed funding is as follows:
Arts Alliance $6,500
Historical Assoc 8,500
Main Street 10,000
Rotary-bike race 3,175
Chamber 5,000
Alamo Mission 2,000
SRS Auction 2,400
FC Youth baseball 7,500
2021-2022 Budget Discussion: Administrator Rose reported she has just received the proposed tax rate and
because sales tax has gone up our ad valorem tax will be reduced by approximately $0.01. She had no further
information than that and will be contacting the tax assessor/collector with further questions. The tax rate and
public hearing approving will be in August and the final budget approval will be September.
Mrs. Rose reported we are going to exceed the proposed sales tax collection for 2020-2021 budget and feels we
need to increase the amount anticipated in 2021-2022 budget.
Reporting further that we did not receive funding for the Carthel Street project so she wanted input from the
council as to decrease the proposed engineer budget but after some discussion it was decided to leave the amount
the same as the current budget due to future planning will need to be conducted.
Presiding Officer to Adjourn the City Council Meeting
Motion made by Mayor Pro Tem Huddleston to close the meeting at 6:49 p.m., Seconded by Councilman Cason.
Voting Yea: Mayor Pro Tem Huddleston, Councilman Cason, Councilwoman Bailey.

The Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter
to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific information. Claims against the City,
Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens’ forum.
