Main Street Alliance Meeting

MINUTES FOR May 17 2021 at 5:15 pm MOUNT VERNON MAIN STREET ALLIANCE MOUNT VERNON TEXAS 75457 Members present: Jonathan Jones Betsy Gekiere Bonnie McAllister Gay Travis Chock Yates Crystal Copeland Wendy Standridge Amy Briscoe Carolyn Teague, Manager Members absent Jennifer Beene Guest present: Tina Rose Lillie Bush-Reves Call to Order and announce a quorum is present Chair Gekiere called the meeting to order at 5:15 and determined a quorum was present. Consent Agenda Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Board, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Board Member may request any item to be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered a separate item. 1. Accept financial reports 2. Review and Accept Minutes After review of the minutes and financial reports for April, Wendy Standridge made a motion to accept the financial reports and minutes from April 2021. Jonathan Jones seconded the motion and the motion carried unanimously. Action Item – Change position of Jennifer Beene to Volunteer in lieu of Board Member. Manager Teague asked all nominations be turned into Wendy Standridge or Manager Teage by June 21, 2021. Discussion Items (no action will be taken) . 1. Smokey Row update – Manager Teague informed Main Street board the hold up for Smokey Row is the building supplies. 2. Farmers Market & 2nd Saturdays –  3. Presentation Month activities – Manager Teague informed the board the Preservation activities had been cancelled due to the weather. 4. Downtown Mural – Betsy Gekiere stated new site locations were being looked at by committee. 5. MVF&WF in the fall – set a date – Nov. 6th was selected for the Harvest on Main dinner and have the Winefest in the springtime. Committee Reports Organization – Wendy is accepting nominations for board members. Economic Vitality – No current report. Design- Betsy Gekiere – No current report. Promotions – No current report. Adjournment Member Briscoe made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:14 p.m. Member Standridge seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
