Public Works/Library Committee Meeting August 10, 2022, 6:00 pm Attendees Present: Mayor Boudreau Council Members: Beaton, Brocksmith, Carias, Hulst, Molenaar, Morales Staff Members: Public Works – Phillips; City Attorney – Rogerson; Finance Director – Volesky; Library Director – Huffman; Development Services – Groth; Police Chief - Cammock 1. Approval of Public Works Committee Minutes: Councilmember Beaton moved to approve the minutes from July 13, 2022; Seconded by Councilmember Hulst; Carried by all. 2. Miscellaneous / For the Good of the Order Daryl Hamburg, Dike District 17, gave a presentation of the Seattle City Light Skagit Operational Model Flood Storage Proposal. Council engaged in a brief flood modeling discussion with Jenna Friebel and Daryl Hamburg. Council agreed public safety is the nexus of the study and would consider signing a memorandum of support. 3. Public Works Director Updates – Chris Phillips Council was supportive of the 2022/2023 Cartegraph maintenance support software funding and training strategy. 4. LIBRARY DIRECTOR COMMENTS – Isaac Huffman Library Director Huffman provided an update on the following; LED Lighting Project, MVSD Library Card Program, Staffing, Library Foundation, Migrant Children Summer Academy Celebration, and the Library Website.
