CALL TO ORDER Chair Donahue called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present 4- Max Beckman-Harned, Nicole Vogt, Vice Chair Elena Lopez, and Chairperson Paul Donahue 3. MINUTES APPROVAL Motion - M/S Beckman-Harned/Lopez to approve the Library Board minutes of the October 16, 2017 meeting. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Beckman-Harned, Vogt, Vice Chair Lopez, and Chairperson Donahue Yes: 4- Beckman-Harned, Vogt, Vice Chair Lopez, and Chairperson Donahue 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC - None 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 Remodel Update The Library Director gave an overview of the information included in the latest Director’s Report. Updates will also be posted to the library website at: http://mountainview.gov/depts/library/about/libraryremodel/default.asp 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Fines and Fees The Library Board reviewed the fines and fees charged by libraries in the Silicon Valley Library System and will explore the potential impact of reducing or eliminating fines and consider other mechanisms for ensuring library materials are returned. City of Mountain View Page 1 Library Board Minutes November 13, 2017 SVLS Charts of Fines and Fees Attachments: Fines Fees 6.2 Circulation by Material Type The Library Director presented circulation data, including materials checked out by adults, teens, and children and circulation of books vs. media. 6.3 Library Board Meetings and Access to the Library The Library Board agreed to begin meetings at 7:00 p.m. and end by 9:00 p.m. Motion - M/S Lopez/Donahue to change the start time of the Regular Library Board Meeting to 7:00 p.m. and to end meetings by 9:00 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4- Beckman-Harned, Vogt, Vice Chair Lopez, and Chairperson Donahue 7. BOARD/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Director Macek presented the Director's Report and answered questions. 7.1 Director's Report Attachments: Report 8.
