1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Vogt called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present 4- Max Beckman-Harned, Paul Donahue, Vice Chair Nicole Vogt, and Chair Elena
Lopez
Absent 1- Phyllis Bismanovsky
Chair Lopez arrived at 7:25 p.m.
3. MINUTES APPROVAL
Motion - M/S Donahue/Beckman-Harned to approve the Library Board minutes of the
June 18, 2018 meeting.
The motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 3- Beckman-Harned, Donahue, and Vice Chair Vogt
Absent: 2- Bismanovsky, and Chair Lopez
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC - None
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
5.1 Budget
The Library Board reviewed the final budget as approved by the City Council at the June 19,
2018 City Council meeting. All trustees were satisfied with the budget and no concerns were
raised.

Motion - M/S Donahue/Beckman-Harned to approve the work plan.
The motion carried by the following vote:

After discussion, the Library Board finalized the Fiscal Year 2018/19 work plan.
6. BOARD/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Trustee Beckman-Harned mentioned the schedule for the 2018 California Library Association
conference. There was discussion about pricing of the conference and the ability to send one
or two Library Board members to the conference.
Chair Lopez mentioned an article regarding library trends.
Chair Lopez informed the Board that the three policies that are the most outdated are:
exhibits, bulletin boards, and material selection. Discussion ensued regarding the upcoming
calendar to work on these policies. Chair Lopez initiated a question and discussion about if
the library has a programming policy and if one is needed.
Trustee Donahue mentioned two outdated City of Mountain View policies and some
discussion and possible future action was discussed.
Library Director Gray informed the board of a summer reading finale event to be held on
August 1 and invited the board to attend and/or speak at the event.
