SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY
6:30 P.M.-SPECIAL SESSION (HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS)
1. CALL TO ORDER
President McAlister called the meeting to order at 6:46 p.m.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
President McAlister led the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. ROLL CALL
Present: 7 - Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Inks, Boardmember Kasperzak, Boardmember
Rosenberg, Boardmember Siegel, Vice President Showalter, and President McAlister
4. CONSENT CALENDAR
MOTION: M/S Showalter/Clark - To approve the Consent Calendar.
The motion carried unanimously.
4.1 Approval of Minutes.
That the Board approve the following minutes:
1. May 19, 2015 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting; and
2. May 26, 2015 Shoreline Regional Park Community meeting.
5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS
Don Letcher expressed concerns with the City's website survey regarding community gardens being
open to Santa Clara County residents, and suggested that only City residents should be invited to
respond. Mr. Letcher also spoke in support of hiring an independent city auditor.

Celestina Simon, representing Unite Here Local 19, spoke in support of affordable housing and a
higher minimum wage.
Carol Donahue, representing the Mountain View Performing Arts Committee, presented
information regarding the Ballroom for a Cause fundraiser to be held on Wednesday, July 1st.
Kevin Reilly expressed concerns with the future relocation of his long-term business in the North
Bayshore area and with the inequitable relocation assistance provided by Google for the businesses
located in this same area. Mr. Reilly also responded to Council's questions.
Don Bahl expressed concerns with the City's website survey regarding community gardens being
open to Santa Clara County residents, and suggested that only City residents should be allowed to
respond. Mr. Bahl also expressed issues with accessibility to the Senior Community Gardens.
Janet Kitajima expressed concerns that the Sports Pavilion did not offer off-peak and non-profit
discount rates similar to other rental facilities in the City, and she requested that Council consider
adding these rates so that the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society could afford to continue to meet
there. Ms. Kitajima also responded to Council's questions.
Barbara Goodwin presented information regarding community gardens, and expressed concerns
with placing community gardens in public parks.
Lisa Chung, representing State Senator Jerry Hill, presented information on Senator Hill's "Java
with Jerry" informational meeting on Saturday, June 20th at the Clocktower Roasting Company
from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
6. PUBLIC HEARING
6.1 Public Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Proposed Budget.
Convene a public hearing, accept public comment, and provide input on the
Fiscal Year 2015-16 Proposed Budget.
President McAlister opened the Public Hearing at 8:23 p.m.
Treasurer Kong presented an oral staff report and she, and Community Manager Rich, responded to
the Board's questions.
