Quinn, City Attorney September 19, 2017 Council Chambers - 500 Castro St. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY 6:00 P.M.-STUDY SESSION (TO BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS) 1. CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President Rosenberg called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m., and led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Boardmember Abe-Koga, Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Matichak, Boardmember McAlister, Boardmember Showalter, Vice President Siegel, and President Rosenberg 3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS Andrew Boone expressed appreciation to Council for all its effort made on raising minimum wage, and he suggested that Council consider raising it higher than $15. Mr. Boone also suggested that Council reassert its support for the Bus Rapid Transit project to the Valley Transportation Authority. Emily Goodwin presented information regarding the company Ygrene and its seismic fitting program, and she encouraged the City to take action to adopt the program. Ms. Goodwin also responded to Council's questions. 4. STUDY SESSION 4.1 Study Session Regarding Regulation of Commercial Marijuana Activities. Assistant Planner Burke and Senior Assistant City Attorney Chopra presented oral reports and they, Community Manager Rich and Police Lieutenant St. Clair, responded to the Board's questions. SPEAKING FROM THE FLOOR EXPRESSING CONCERNS AND/OR WITH RECOMMENDATIONS: Matthew Mahaffey. Mr. Mahaffrey also responded to the Board's questions. Public Works Director Fuller presented an oral staff report and he, Community Manager Rich and City Clerk Brewer, responded to the Board's questions. Seeing no one wishing to speak, President Rosenberg closed the public comment period. 5. ADJOURNMENT - At 10:11 p.m., President Rosenberg adjourned the meeting.
