Rosenberg, Mayor Jannie L. Quinn, City Attorney November 07, 2017 Council Chambers - 500 Castro St. SPECIAL MEETING OF THE SHORELINE REGIONAL PARK COMMUNITY 1. CALL TO ORDER/PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE President Rosenberg called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. Boardmember McAlister led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 7 - Boardmember Abe-Koga, Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Matichak, Boardmember McAlister, Boardmember Showalter, Vice President Siegel, and President Rosenberg President Rosenberg left the meeting at 7:02 p.m. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR MOTION - MS - McAlister/Abe-Koga - To approve the Consent Calendar. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 7 - Boardmember Abe-Koga, Boardmember Clark, Boardmember Matichak, Boardmember McAlister, Boardmember Showalter, Vice President Siegel, and President Rosenberg 3.1 City Auditor’s Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2016-17 and Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2017-18 1. Accept and file the City Auditor’s Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2016-17. 2. Approve the City Auditor’s Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2017-18 as recommended. 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON NONAGENDIZED ITEMS Robert Halbrook requested that Council send a letter to the FAA by the deadline of tomorrow, regarding a new procedure that will give the FAA the flexibility to route airplanes without knowledge of the public of where those routes will be located. City of Mountain View Page 1 City Council MEETING MINUTES 11/7/2017 Beth Ericson expressed concerns with FAA's SERFR3 proposal, and she urged the City of Mountain View to stay involved in the process related to airplane noise. Toni Rath expressed concerns with airplane noise, and he requested that Council send a letter to the FAA in opposition to the SERFR3 proposal. Shari Emling expressed concerns with airplane noise, and she expressed appreciation to Council for staying on top of the issue. Joan MacDonald, speaking on behalf of the League of Women Voters and Advocates for Affordable Housing, expressed concerns with losing affordable housing in support of ownership housing, and she urged Council to reconsider the impact fees, consider extending the time that fees take effect, and consider including BMR units in ownership housing developments. Mark expressed concerns with the FAA's SERFR3 proposal and the limited amount of time for public comment on the proposal. John Listic presented information regarding receptors in the brain and the ability of the body to kill cancer. Mr. Listic also spoke in support of medicinal cannibus. President Rosenberg left the meeting at 7:02 p.m. 5. ADJOURNMENT - At 11:12 p.m., Vice President Siegel adjourned the meeting.
