CALL TO ORDER Chair Kamei called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Commissioners Cox, Fernandez, Matichak, Scarboro, Trontell, Vice Chair Capriles, and Chair Kamei. Commissioners Absent: None. 3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC SPEAKING FROM THE FLOOR Don Letcher asked that the EPC consider not giving up any traffic lanes on El Camino Real, not giving up any park space, and do not allow rents to go up in Mountain View. (Inaudible) male speaker stated he is concered about high rise development at Shoreline Park and he does support the bus lane on El Camino Real but is concerned with front setbacks. 4. STUDY SESSION 4.1 COMPANION UNITS. Study Session to discuss revising the City's existing Companion Unit regulations. PUBLIC HEARING - COUNCIL CHAMBERS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE STUDY SESSION 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Commissioners Present: Commissioners Cox, Fernandez, Matichak, Scarboro, Trontell, Vice Chair Capriles, and Chair Kamei. Commissioners Absent: None. 3. MINUTES APPROVAL 3.1 APPROVAL OF MINUTES. That the Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) approve the minutes for March 18, 2015. No members of the public wished to speak. Motion—M/S Scarboro/ Cox — Carried 6-0-1; (Trontell abstained due to absence) — Continue this item to the August 19, 2015 hearing allowing the EPC to review the clarifying edits. 4. PUBLIC HEARING 4.1 GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT - NORTH BAYSHORE RESIDENTIAL USES. That the Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) recommends the City Council approve a General Plan Map and Text Amendment to allow residential uses in the North Bayshore Mixed Use land use designation for properties along the North Shoreline Boulevard corridor. SPEAKING FROM THE FLOOR EXPRESSING CONCERNS AND OR WITH RECOMMENDATIONS: Don Letcher Jeremy Hoffman The EPC deliberated this item. Motion—M/S Cox/ Fernandez— Carried 6-1; (Trontell - No.) — That the Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) adopt a resolution recommending that the City Council approve a General Plan Map and Text Amendment to allow residential uses in the North Bayshore Change Area. 5. COMMISSION/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Principal Planner Alkire provided an oral staff report. 6. ADJOURNMENT Chair Kamei adjourned the meeting at 10:07 p.m. to the next Regular Meeting of June 17, 2015, in the Plaza Conference Room, 500 Castro Street.
