CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL Present 5- Commissioner Thida Cornes, Vice Chair Paul Hepfer, Chairperson Jonathan Herbach, Commissioner Katherine Naegele, and Helen Wolter 3. MINUTES APPROVAL Motion - M/S Cornes/Herbach - To approve the December 9, 2015 minutes as amended. Motion Carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Commissioner Cornes, Vice Chair Hepfer, Chairperson Herbach, Commissioner Naegele, and Wolter 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Commission on any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Commission from acting on non-agenda items. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Election of Officers Nomination of Chair Motion - M/S Wolter/Hepfer - To nominate Vice Chair Herbach as the Chairperson. Motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5- Commissioner Cornes, Vice Chair Hepfer, Chairperson Herbach, Commissioner Naegele, and Wolter 6.2 Update on the Design of the Permanente Creek Trail from Rock Street to Middlefield Road and Modifications to the Crittenden Middle School Athletic Fields, Projects 12-33 and 15-28 Principal Civil Engineer Lisa Au gave a presentation on update of the Design of the Permanente Creek Trail from Rock Street to Middlefield Road and Modifications to the Crittenden Middle School Athletic Fields Projects, and the Commission acknowledged her presentation. 6.3 Four Cities Coordinated Stevens Creek Trail Feasibility Study Recreation Manager John Marchant presented the background information on the Four Cities Coordinated Stevens Creek Trail Feasibility Study and its findings as well as to share the input received from City Council during a Study Session on December 1, 2015. The Commission acknowledged the presentation. 7. COMMISSION/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS Community Services Director de la Montaigne briefly shared items that are scheduled to go to the Council in the upcoming months. Commissioners Cornes and Wolter requested the Monthly Report and other relevant reports be sent as separate documents with the agenda packet, but not attached to the end of the agenda packet. 8. ADJOURNMENT At 8:04 p.m., the Chairperson Herbach adjourned the meeting to the next Parks and Recreation Commission and Urban Forestry Board meeting to be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Center 266 Escuela Avenue.
