1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Naegele called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present 5- Commissioner Thida Cornes, Commissioner Paul Hepfer, Commissioner Helen
Wolter, Vice Chair Jonathan Herbach, and Chairperson Katherine Naegele
3. MINUTES APPROVAL
Motion - M/S Cornes/Hepfer - To approve the November 18, 2015 minutes with a
minor amendment.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 5- Commissioner Cornes, Commissioner Hepfer, Commissioner Wolter, Vice Chair
Herbach, and Chairperson Naegele
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
Unidentified person spoke about issues related to losing Heritage trees in Mountain View due
to number of developments.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None
6. NEW BUSINESS
6.1 15-338 Naming of New Park at 771 North Rengstorff Avenue, Project 15-41
Senior Project Manager Rodriguez gave a presentation and requested the Commission
select at least two names for the new park at 771 North Rengstorff Avenue.

AN UNIDENTIFIED PERSON SPOKE FROM THE FLOOR WITH COMMENTS REGARDING
PROVIDED NAMES.
Motion - M/S Herbach/Cornes - To forward following two (2) names for
Council consideration:
Immigrant Grove Park
Heritage Park as two names.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 5- Commissioner Cornes, Commissioner Hepfer, Commissioner Wolter, Vice Chair
Herbach, and Chairperson Naegele
The following motion failed.
Motion - M/S Cornes/Wolter - To forward Stieper Park as the third selected
name for Council consideration.
Motion failed by the following vote:
Yes: 2- Commissioner Cornes, and Commissioner Wolter
No: 2- Commissioner Hepfer, and Vice Chair Herbach
Abstain: 1- Chairperson Naegele
Commission also made the following motion.
Motion - M/S Herbach/Wolter - To request staff to recognize the Stieper family
by incorporating interpretive signs in the park.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Yes: 5- Commissioner Cornes, Commissioner Hepfer, Commissioner Wolter, Vice Chair
Herbach, and Chairperson Naegele
6.2 15-339 Heritage Tree Appeal-3356 Shady Spring Lane
Parks Section Manager Trconic gave a presentation, and he and Parks Manager Hurlburt
responded to the Commission's questions.

6.3 15-340 Heritage Tree Appeal-2042 Tripiano Court
Parks Section Manager Trconic gave a presentation, and he and Parks Manager Hurlburt
responded to the Commission's questions.

The staff suggested that staff would like to have a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
(TRAQ) report done by a certified assessor and bring this appeal back to PRC at a future
meeting.
Motion - M/S Herbach/Wolter - To approve staff suggestion to review a Tree
Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) report and bring the appeal back to a
future PRC meeting.
Motion carried by the following vote:

7. COMMISSION/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Community Services Director de la Montaigne shared the following information:
- An overview of the Community Tree Lighting ceremony
- Breakfast with Santa and German Holiday Market on Saturday December 12th
Commissioners Cornes and Wolter had questions regarding burrowing owls, and staff
answered their questions.

At 9:10 p.m. Chairperson Naegele adjourned the meeting to the next Parks and Recreation
