NEW BUSINESS City of Mountain View Page 1 Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes - Final September 12, 2018 and Urban Forestry Board 6.1 Wyandotte Street Park Conceptual Review and Recommendation, Project 17-40 Senior Project Manager Rey Rodriguez presented an oral report and answered the Commission's questions. SSA Landscape Architects Senior Project Manager Scott Reeves answered the Commission's questions. Ensure that we have water facilities that will always be engaging regardless of season and current drought conditions. 2. Incorporate into the rest of the process a review for public art as a part of the Visual Arts Committee process. Yes: 5- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Vice Chair Conley, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer M/S: Herbach/Devine - To approve the proposed Heritage tree mitigation for Wyandotte Street Park, Project 17-40, and forward a recommendation to the City Council approving the staff recommended mitigation of 2:1 tree replacements with 24” box trees for the removal of eight Heritage trees. Yes: 5- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Vice Chair Conley, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer M/S Hepfer/Herbach - To submit Wyandotte Park as one name for Council consideration. Yes: 5- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Vice Chair Conley, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer M/S Conley/Herbach - To submit Reinert Park as the second name for Council consideration. Yes: 4- Commissioner Lee, Vice Chair Conley, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer No: 1- Commissioner Devine M/S Herbach/Hepfer - To ask that Council name the pocket park on Wyandotte Street and go through a similar public process for naming it. Yes: 5- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Vice Chair Conley, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer City of Mountain View Page 2 Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes - Final September 12, 2018 and Urban Forestry Board 6.2 Naming of New Community Garden at Shoreline Boulevard and Latham Street, Project 17-44 Commissioner Conley recused herself from this item as she is currently on the Community Gardens waitlist. Senior Civil Engineer Anne Marie Starr presented an oral report and answered the Commission's questions. M/S Hepfer/Herbach - To submit Latham Community Garden as one name for Council consideration. Yes: 4- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer Recused: 1- Vice Chair Conley Prior to making the second motion, Commissioner Hepfer and Chair Herbach requested that the staff report to Council indicate that the primary choice was Latham Community Garden. The Commission had discussed submitting Latham Gardens as the second name for Council consideration, but found that a property in Mountain View was already named Latham Gardens. M/S Herbach/Hepfer- To submit Eagle Park Community Garden as the second name for Council consideration. Yes: 4- Commissioner Devine, Commissioner Lee, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Hepfer Recused: 1- Vice Chair Conley 6.3 Cuesta Tennis Center Operator Annual Update Todd Dissly and John Togasaki, representatives from the Mountain View Tennis Center, presented the annual report and answered the Commission's questions. 6.4 Friends of Deer Hollow Farm Agreement Recreation Supervisor Greg Milano presented an oral report and Assistant Community Services Director John Marchant answered the Commision's questions. Speaking from the floor providing input: • Pamela Baird M/S Conley/Lee - To forward a recommendation to the City Council authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement between the City of Mountain View and the Friends of Deer Hollow Farm.
