1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Devine called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present 3- Commissioner Joe Mitchner, Chair Jonathan Herbach, and Commissioner Russell
Devine
Absent 1- Commissioner Kevin Lee
3. MINUTES APPROVAL
3.1 Approval of Minutes
M/S - Mitchner/Devine - To approve the May 8, 2019 Minutes.
Commissioner Herbach abstained because he was absent at the May 8, 2019 meeting.
By consensus, the Commissioners directed staff to bring the May 8, 2019 minutes back
for a vote at the September 11, 2019 meeting.
The motion failed by following vote:
Yes: 2- Commissioner Mitchner, and Commissioner Devine
Absent: 1- Commissioner Lee
Abstain: 1- Chair Herbach

6.1 Fiscal Year 2019-20 Parks and Recreation Commission and Urban
Forestry Board Work Plan
Acting Community Services Director John Marchant presented an oral report and
answered the Commission's questions.
M/S Devine/Mitchner - To approve the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Parks and Recreation
Commission and Urban Forestry Board Work Plan to be forwarded to the City Council for
approval (Attachment 1).
The motion passed by the following vote:
Yes: 3- Commissioner Mitchner, Chair Herbach, and Commissioner Devine
Absent: 1- Commissioner Lee
7. COMMISSION/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS
Acting Community Services Director John Marchant updated the Commission on the
following:
• Scheduling future meetings and items
• Special events, including KidStock, Recology Volunteer Project, Concerts on the Plaza,
4th of July, and Summer Movie Nights
• Plaza activation
• Heat advisories and open Recreation swim
• McKelvey
8. ADJOURNMENT
Chair Devine adjourned the meeting at 7:39 p.m. to the next regular meeting of
September 11, 2019, in the Community Center, 201 S. Rengstorff Ave. Meeting date,
time, and venue are subject to change.

Adjourn to the next Regular Meeting of September 11, 2019, in The Community Center,
201 S. Rengstorff. Meeting date, time, and venue are subject to change.
The specific location of each meeting is noted on the notice and agenda for each meeting
which is posted at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting. Special meetings may be
called as necessary by the Commission Chair and noticed at least 24 hours in advance
of the meeting.
