CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL 3. MINUTES APPROVAL 3.1 Approval of Minutes. Recommendation: The Performing Arts Committee approve the minutes of the September 18, 2017 meeting. Attachments: PAC Minutes - September 20, 2017 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.1 One-Act Play Festival Subcommittee Report. Recommendation: Background: The One-Act Play Festival was held in February 2017. Due to zero applications for 2018 the Performing Arts Committee (PAC) will be working on plans for the 2019 Festival. Hear an update from the Subcommittee. 5.2 501(c)(3) Formation. Recommendation: Background: With assistance and encouragement from PAC over several years, several interested parties have incorporated as the 501(c)(3) entity Mountain View Presents, which has a goal of supporting MVCPA programs through fundraising and development of festivals. Former Committee member Ray Chan is working with the 501(c)(3) formation Subcommittee to coordinate that group’s efforts with the Center. Hear an update from the Subcommittee on next steps. 5.3 SecondStage Fee Waiver Program. Recommendation: Background: At the December 11, 2013 PAC meeting, the PAC approved a SecondStage Fee Waiver Program and created a Subcommittee to review any applications. The PAC provided their first fee waiver under this program at the November 10, 2015 meeting. Review all currently received fee waiver applications. Recommendation: Background: One application has been received and approved by the PAC for the SecondStage Home Company program. Review the PAC letter to be presented to Council at the November 7 City Council meeting. Review all currently received SecondStage Home Company applications. Attachments: DRAFT Letter to Council for SS Home Company Program - Item 5.4 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Peninsula Youth Theatre Annual Review. Recommendation: Background: As part of Peninsula Youth Theatre’s (PYT) long term Home Company contract, Staff will present a summary of performance use days, sales and expenses, and open up discussion for opportunities to improve services and/or relations. PYT will provide a report on and discuss their outreach activities for the past year. Hear Staff and PYT’s recap of annual reports. Attachments: PYT Annual Review statement 2016-17 - Item 6.1a PYT 2016-17 Season events overview - Item 6.1b 6.2 Schola Cantorum 2019. Recommendation: Background: George Alexsovich Executive Director at Schola Cantorum requested the PAC make an exception to the MVCPA booking policies to allow Schola Cantorum to book MainStage dates in 2019 for their Music Director’s retirement. Discuss Schola Cantorum's request. 6.3 PAC Member Photo. Recommendation: Background: The PAC website should have a current photo of Committee members. Take a group photo to update the PAC website. 7. COMMISSION/STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS, UPDATES, REQUESTS, AND COMMITTEE REPORTS 7.1 PAC Revenue and Expense Spreadsheet. Recommendation: Informational Item. Attachments: PAC Revenue Expenses - Item 7.1 8.
