1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Aiyar called the meeting to at 7:05 pm
2. ROLL CALL
Present: 7- Aiyar, Brodovsky, Frink, Langton, Sandhu, Tang, and Wang
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
Public Comment opened at 7:07 pm
The following members of the public spoke:
Bruce England provided comments and questions related to the Police Department
vaccination requirement, a request for the PSAB 2022 work plan to include existing
mental health programs, a request to see the slide set from County from August’s PSAB
meeting, a question about the location of the future community mobile response
facilities, and more content and clarification about the PSAB advisory body bylaws.
Tim Mackenzie provided a comment requesting the City of Mountain View City Hall
Connection email distribution include information about the PSAB and the important work
it is doing.

4. MINUTES APPROVAL
4.1 Minutes approval for August 26, 2021
Approve the August 26, 2021 PSAB Meeting Minutes.

5.1 School Resource Officer Subcommittee
Members Wang and Sandhu provided an update on the SRO Subcommittee.

6. BOARD/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS
Chair Aiyar shared her research and information gathering and indicated she was waiting
to hear back from MVWSD, she had met with or was planning on meeting “El Cafecito,“
PTA groups, ELD teachers and MVHS staff and faculty.
Member Brodovsky shared with the PSAB that 25% of MVHS students are Latino, 3%
are Black.
Member Wang explained that she supports combining her efforts to interview students of
color with Chair Aiyar’s efforts to do the same.
Vice Chair Frink shared his work gathering experiences and research of the MVPD SRO
program and had spoken with or was planning on speaking with administrators at both
MVLA and MVWSD.
Chair Aiyar shared that she met with SROs and was planning additional further meetings
with them and invited the Board to do the same.
Member Langton asked about how to contact the SROs.
Member Brodovsky shared that in South Carolina a HS she is aware of has three (3)
officers assigned to arrest students and asked about the contrast to the MVPS SRO
program.
Member Langton shared his experience and knowledge of SROs in different areas.
Vice Chair Frink shared his experience with SROs in Orlando and other areas.
Member Langton asked about what The City can do to encourage board members and
volunteers to be vaccinated.

This meeting will be conducted in accordance with State of California Executive Order N-29-20,
dated March 17, 2020 and State of California Executive Order N-08-21, dated June 11, 2021. All
members of the Public Safety Advisory Board will participate in the meeting by video conference,
with no physical meeting location.
Members of the public wishing to observe the live meeting may do so on YouTube at
www.MountainView.gov/YouTube.
Members of the public wishing to comment on an item may do so in the following ways:
1. Email comments to psab@mountainview.gov by 4:30 p.m. on the meeting date. Emails will be
forwarded to the Public Safety Advisory Board by the City Manager's Office. Please identify the
Agenda Item number in the subject line of your email.
2. Provide oral public comments during the meeting:

This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Subcommittee
on any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are allowed to speak on any topic for up to
three minutes during this section. If there appears to be a large number of speakers,
speaking time may be reduced to no less than 1.5 minutes. State law prohibits the
Subcommittee from acting on non-agenda items.

Recommendation: If there are no corrections or additions, a motion is in
order to approve these minutes.

ADDRESSING THE PSAB:
The PSAB may consider and act on items listed on the agenda in any order and thus those interested in an item listed on
the agenda are advised to be present throughout the meeting.
Anyone wishing to address the PSAB should make their interest known to the Chair. Speakers are allowed to speak for up
to three minutes. If there appears to be a large number of speakers, speaking time may be reduced to no less than 1.5
minutes.
If requested in advance of the public input portion of the agenda item to the Chair or staff, a speaker who represents five or
more members of the public in attendance but elect not to speak may have up to 10 minutes to address the
Subcommittee, if the Chair determines that such extension will reduce the total number of speakers who planned to
speak.
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3(b)(1), at least twice the allotted speaking time will be provided to a
member of the public who utilizes a translator.
