City of Mountain View Minutes - Final Youth Advisory Committee Tuesday, September 5, 2023 4:30 PM The View Teen Center, 263 Escuela Avenue 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. ROLL CALL - Committee members Committee members Braun, Byon, Chan, Galindo, Jhin, Luna, Ma, Montano, Motaghiannezam, Murphy, Nair, Tissera, Wang, and Zayats. Present 13 - Kaitlyn Byon, Natalie Chan, Amy Galindo, Ryan Jhin, Taylor Luna, Victoria Ma, Leilani Montano, Ariana Motaghiannezam, Nolan Murphy, Jayan Nair, Jade Tissera, Ryan Wang, and Meital Zayats Absent 1 - Simon Braun 3. APPROVE MINUTES 3.1 Minutes Approval M/S Chan/Galindo to approve the August 21 meeting minutes. Yes: 13 - Byon, Chan, Galindo, Jhin, Luna, Ma, Montano, Motaghiannezam, Murphy, Nair, Tissera, Wang, and Zayats 4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Overview of the Brown Act and Robert's Rules of Order Recreation Coordinator Lauren Eck and Recreation Supervisor Greg Milano presented information on the Brown Act and Robert's Rules of Order to Committee members. 6.2 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan Committee members worked on the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan. 6.3 Teen Wellness Retreat Committee members discussed the Teen Wellness Retreat event. 6.4 Celebration of Service Recreation Coordinator Lauren Eck and Recreation Supervisor Greg Milano reminded Committee members of the Celebration of Service event. Yes: 13 - Byon, Chan, Galindo, Jhin, Luna, Ma, Montano, Motaghiannezam, Murphy, Nair, Tissera, Wang, and Zayats 7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS 8. ADJOURNMENT AGENDAS FOR BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES The specific location of each meeting is noted on the agenda for each meeting which is posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Questions and comments regarding the agenda may be directed to the Recreation Division at 650-903-6331. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC This portion of the meeting is reserved for persons wishing to address the Committee on any matter not on the agenda. Speakers are limited to three minutes. State law prohibits the Committee from acting on non-agenda items. 5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None. 6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Overview of the Brown Act and Robert's Rules of Order City Staff will provide a presentation of the Brown Act and Robert’s Rules of Order to Committee members. 6.2 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan Committee members will work on the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan. 6.3 Teen Wellness Retreat Committee members will discuss the Teen Wellness Retreat event.
