1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chair Chan at 4:35 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL - Committee members Braun, Byon, Chan, Galindo, Jhin, Luna, Ma, Montano,
Motaghiannezam, Murphy, Nair, Rajasekaran, Tissera, Wang, and Zayats.
Present 9 - Simon Braun, Ryan Jhin, Ariana Motaghiannezam, Jayan Nair, Shahana Rajasekaran, Jade
Tissera, Ryan Wang, Vice Chair Taylor Luna, and Chair Natalie Chan
Absent 6 - Kaitlyn Byon, Amy Galindo, Victoria Ma, Leilani Montano, Nolan Murphy, and Meital Zayats

6.1 Adoption of the 2023-24 Meeting Schedule
Adopt the 2023-24 meeting schedule.

6.2 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan
Approve the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan.

6.3 Input on Guest Speakers
Committee members provided input on what types of guest speakers they would like to hear from at future
meetings. Topics included local government, parks and recreation strategic plan, mental health, and
hearing from City Council members.

6.4 YAC Social
Recreation Coordinator Lauren Eck reminded Committee members of the YTRS YAC Social on Saturday,
November 4, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the San Carlos Youth Center. Committee members are highly encouraged
to attend.
6.5 Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Recreation Coordinator Lauren Eck reminded Committee members of upcoming volunteer opportunities
including Monster Bash, Senior Center Holiday Bazaar, and Cops and Gobblers.
7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS

The meeting was adjourned at 4:57 p.m.

Committee members will review the draft of the 2023-24 Youth Advisory Committee Work Plan and make
necessary changes.

6.3 Input on Guest Speakers
Committee members will discuss opportunities to hear from guest speakers at future meetings.
6.4 YAC Social
Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, will share information on the upcoming YAC Social, a yearly event
hosted by the California Park & Recreation Society Youth and Teen Recreation Services Committee. The
event will be held on Saturday, November 4, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the San Carlos Youth Center.
6.5 Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Recreation Coordinator, Lauren Eck, will review upcoming volunteer opportunities with committee
members.
7. COMMITTEE/STAFF COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, COMMITTEE REPORTS
No action will be taken on any questions raised by the Committee at this time.
