BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES
SPECIAL MEETING
SET THE MILL RATE – FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010
April 2, 2009
1. Mayor M. Bronko called the Special Meeting to order at 8:10 p.m. with the following in
attendance:

DEPARTMENT HEADS:
W. McAllister, Controller
2. Motion by Burgess Neth and seconded by Deputy Mayor Rossi that the tax rate for the
fiscal year July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 on the Borough of Naugatuck Grand
List of October 1, 2008 as amended by the Board of Assessment Appeals be and hereby
is laid at 31.52 Mills on the Dollar, due and payable 50% July 1, 2009, 50%
January 1, 2010 on real estate and personal property tax and that all motor vehicle taxes
shall be due and payable July 1, 2009. All real estate and personal property tax bills
$100.00 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2009.

D. Hoff Mayor M. Bronko P. Scully Motion carried 6-3-0
Burgesses Campbell, Fragoso and Scully opposed the budget because they felt the
retirees receiving under $1,000 pensions a month should receive $10.00 a month
increase.
The burgesses gave kudos to Chairman Lennon for all of his diligence, fairness and
hard work. They thanked Controller McAllister for his endless time, effort and
knowledge in preparing such a difficult budget.
3. VOTED: Unanimously on motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess
Neth that the Special Meeting be adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
