MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING SET THE MILL RATE – FISCAL YEAR 2011-2012 May 26, 2011 1. Mayor Robert A. Mezzo called the special meeting to order at 11:00 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: RESIDENTS: None T. K. Rossi L. Jackson M. Bronko R. Neth PRESS: R. Burns R. San Angelo P. Scalisi M. Ciacciarella P. Scully, Sr. C. Ernsky DEPARTMENT HEADS: OTHERS: W. McAllister, Controller D. Scinto, Finance Board D. Sheridan, Finance Bd. M. Katra, Finance Board 2. Mayor Mezzo led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. Motion by Deputy Mayor Rossi and seconded by Burgess Neth that the tax rate for the fiscal year July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012 on the Borough of Naugatuck Grand List of October 1, 2010, as amended by the Board of Assessment Appeals, be and hereby is laid at 32.81 Mills on the Dollar, due and payable 50% July 1, 2011, 50% January 1, 2012 on real estate and personal property tax and that all motor vehicle taxes shall be due and payable July 1, 2011. All real estate and personal property tax bills $100.00 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2011. ROLL CALL VOTE: FOR: OPPOSED: ABSTAIN Mayor Mezzo L. Jackson M. Ciacciarella None T. K. Rossi R. Neth C. Ernsky R. Burns P. Scully R. San Angelo M. Bronko Motion carried 7-3-0 For the record: M. Ciacciarella “No, and for the record, that’s to stay consistent with the fact that I thought further budget cuts could have been made to lower the budget.” 4.
