Butler, Jr. and the IT Committee. 4. Mayor Hess stated there is a surplus of $100,000 in the Town Clerk’s Local Capital Improvement Fund. The excess can only be used for capital purchases by law. He asked the board for feedback on what to purchase with the money. The mayor said he is thinking of purchasing things that would be nice for the town. The festivals have been a huge success and instead of renting a stage and sound equipment, we could purchase both. Another idea is an aerator at Baummers Pond to improve the pond from all the muck. Burgesses made the following suggestions: build a new gazebo on the green or at another park, fix the existing playgrounds and/or put some money toward a splash pad at Hop Brook School. The board agreed with the mayor that the festivals are wonderful and sound equipment with a stage should be purchased. The mayor will revisit the issue at a future meeting for a vote. 5.
