MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES APRIL 30, 2019 1. Mayor “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: L. Taf Jackson D. Hoff Luke Marshall M. Bronko R. Neth R. Burns, absent R. Vitale RESIDENTS: J. DeOliveira D. Wisniewski, absent None C. Herb DEPARTMENT HEADS: R. Pugliese, NEDC CEO A. Bruce, Controller OTHERS: D. Sheridan, Finance Board Chairman F. Dlugokecki, NEDC R. Zandvliet, NEDC Chairwoman 2. Burgess Herb led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. Mayor Hess said he had good news regarding the High School Roof Project. A man who used to work for the company that installed the original solar panels on the high school roof approached the mayor. The man said the solar panels could be removed from the roof without having to replace the entire roof. The mayor set up a meeting with the fire department and Building Inspector Bill Herzman. A test will be done this week in a manner to see if the panels can be removed without having to replace the entire roof. The mayor said it would save millions of dollars. If the test works, the panels will be removed and we would proceed with the Microgrid and High School Solar Roof Projects. 4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by Burgess Neth to recess to Executive Session at 6:39 p.m. for discussion on the following: Real Estate (889 New Haven Road, “Hershey” property) inviting in NEDC Chairwoman R. Zandvliet, Attorney F. Dlugokecki, Naugatuck Economic Development Corporation CEO R. Pugliese, Controller Allyson W. Bruce and Finance Board Chairman D. Sheridan. Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 7:37 p.m. 5. The following motion emanated from Executive Session. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Taf Jackson and seconded by Burgess Bronko that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor “Pete” Hess to present an offer regarding the Hershey Property to an unnamed Fortune 50 Company as discussed in executive session.  -2- Minutes – Board of Mayor and Burgesses Special Meeting – April 30, 2019 6.
