MINUTES BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES SPECIAL MEETING SET THE MILL RATE – FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 MAY 15, 2024 The Borough of Naugatuck held the Board of Mayor and Burgesses meeting on a hybrid basis. Everyone was welcomed to attend in person, by Zoom Webinar or by phone. 1. Mayor N. Warren “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 7:11 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: R. Vitale R. Neth, virtual A. Yilma M. Bronko, virtual D. Neth-Kunin F. Dambowsky M. Smith PUBLIC: K. Gallo R. Vitale Unable to determine due to the format C. Marenghi, virtual DEPARTMENT HEADS: C. Montini, Superintendent of Schools A. Bruce, Controller M. Cooney, Assistant Superintendent of Schools B. Rizk, BOE Business Manager J. Lawlor, Human Resources Director, virtual OTHERS: K. Hanks, Board of Finance Chairman L. Wehry, IT Assistant, virtual J. Higgins, Board of Finance Vice Chairman J. Litke, BOE Chairman W. Seaman, Assistant Fire Chief D. Scinto, Board of Finance J. Savarese, Board of Finance, virtual S. James, Board of Finance F. Santana, Arts Commission Co-chair, virtual S. Payne, Board of Finance 2. Walter Seaman led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt that the tax rate for the fiscal year July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 on the Borough of Naugatuck Grand List of October 1, 2023, as amended by the Board of Assessment Appeals, be and hereby is laid at 41.79 Mills on the Dollar, due and payable 50% July 1, 2024, 50% January 1, 2025 on real estate tax and personal property tax over $100.00. All real estate and personal property tax bills $99.99 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2024. Motor vehicle taxes are hereby laid at 32.46 Mills on the Dollar, due and payable 50% July 1, 2024, 50% January 1, 2025 on motor vehicle taxes over $100.00. All motor vehicle tax bills $99.99 or less will be due and payable July 1, 2024. 4. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt that the special meeting be adjourned at 7:12 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
