REVISED MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING BOARD OF MAYOR AND BURGESSES JANUARY 2, 2025 The Borough of Naugatuck held the Board of Mayor and Burgesses meeting on a hybrid basis. Everyone was welcomed to attend in person, by Zoom Webinar or by phone. 1. Mayor “Pete” Hess called the special meeting to order at 6:01 p.m. with the following in attendance: BURGESSES: PRESS: R. Vitale R. Neth None M. Bronko, virtual D. Neth-Kunin F. Dambowsky, virtual J. Rosenblatt K. Gallo M. Smith, absent C. Marenghi DEPARTMENT HEADS: OTHERS: None L. Wehry, IT Assistant 2. Burgess Robert Neth led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. 3. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt to recess to Executive Session at 6:01 p.m. for discussion on the following: Real Estate (Parcels A, B, C, Y & Z, Naugatuck Industrial Park Section III, Hershey Property, Maple Hill Cell Tower, Church Street Claim Waiver) and Pending Litigation. No one was invited into executive session. Mayor Hess reconvened the meeting at 7:20 p.m. 4. The following motions emanated from Executive Session. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize Mayor Hess to enter into an agreement with Tarpon Towers to sell the land lease for the Maple Hill Road Cell Tower to Tarpon Towers in the amount of $237,500.00 plus a forgiveness of our obligation to pay for equipment on the cell tower in the amount of $114,000.00 and with the further conditions that the borough will be able to maintain our current equipment on the cell tower and won’t charge to the borough for the entire length of the use agreement. For the record: Mayor Hess: “We retain the ability to tax the cell tower.” VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt that the Board of Mayor and Burgesses authorize -2- Minutes – Board of Mayor and Burgesses Special Meeting – January 2, 2025 Mayor Hess to enter into an agreement to accelerate the Church Street Infrastructure Project while working through the winter and also resolving all relocation and other related delay issues with Eversource as discussed in executive session. 5. VOTED: Unanimously on a motion by Deputy Mayor Vitale and seconded by Burgess Rosenblatt to adjourn the special meeting at 7:23 p.m. A digital recording of this meeting is available in the office of the Borough Clerk for further review.
