COMMISSION ON PUBLIC WORKS/UTILITIES COUNCIL ROOM MARCH 12, 2019 6:45 P.M. The Commission on Public Works/Utilities met in regular session, Chair Quicker presiding. On roll call: all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were declared approved. Director of Public Works Flynn reported on one burial at the Cemetery, equipment maintenance, snow and ice removal from streets and sidewalks, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling potholes, hauling brush and compost, Water Department is reading meters, Sewer Department snow removal at lift stations and Sewer Plant, more snow and ice removal every day. The Public Works Department received a recognition plaque for their support of The Highground at The Highground recognition banquet and Dale Zank has returned to work on light duty status for the next six to seven weeks. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The minutes of the previous meeting were declared approved. Council Member Neville reported on the February 27, 2019 meeting of the Heritage Days Committee regarding: 1) updates on the Miss Neillsville and Winter Carnival programs, 2) the Friday night bands are booked, 3) discussion on food vendors, 4) discussion on and approval to apply for a Tourism Grant of $3,500, 5) discussion on pottery and 6) updates on vendors and entertainment. Council Member Quicker reported on the March 12, 2019 meeting of the Commission Public Works/Utilities regarding current activities. Mayor Glassbrenner declared all reports filed as presented with the City Clerk. Interim Chief of Police Patrick Fehlman reported on February 2019 complaints, citations, warnings and investigations. Mayor Glassbrenner reported on representing the City of Neillsville at The Highground recognition banquet-both the City and Public Works Department received recognition plaques for support of The Highground. Soda Water License Application: Dollar Tree Stores, Inc., Dollar Tree #06893, Deborah E. Miller, Agent, 238 W. Fifth Street Motion Neville, second Quicker, to grant.
