Committee of the Whole Minutes
The Committee of the Whole met at the City of Nekoosa Office
Location: Council Chambers, 951 Market St. Nekoosa, WI 54457
Time: Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at 5:30 P.M.
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by Mayor Daniel J. Carlson. The roll call was conducted by City Clerk
Kallee Dhein.
Roll Call
Aldermen Present: Adam Buehring, Anthony Carlson, Garrett Kuhn, Daniel Downing, Brad Hamilton, Larry
Krubsack and Michael Kumm via Zoom
Brian Krubsack was noted as absent.
Attendance via Zoom: Jon Trautman-CPA , Darla Allen – Library Director, and Bobbi Hertzberg - Treasurer
Discussion and possible action on amending the budget for a decrease in 2025
The city noticed that there was a large 21% jump in the taxes after they were printed the first time. CPA Jon
Trautman stated this was because there was a large increase in the TID assessed value and the loss of personal
property tax money. Discussion between him and the clerk decided to lower the debt service levy to allow the
taxes to not have such an increase next year.
A motion was made to amend the budget by taking $300,000 off the levy for a Municipal levy total of
$1,209,500 and a total local tax rate of $1,920,850.07 creating a local mill rate of $14.52/thousand.
Motion by: Anthony Carlson Seconded by: Garrett Kuhn Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
