Carried Public Works To the Honorable Mayor and members of the Nekoosa Common Council: A Public Works Committee meeting was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 5:00 PM in the Nekoosa Council Chambers. Members present were: Larry Krubsack - Chairman, Adam Buehring - Secretary, Garrett Kuhn and Anthony Carlson. Also in attendance were Mayor Dan Carlson, Dan Downing, Brad Hamilton, Brian Krubsack, Chief Hartje, Mike Kumm via Zoom , Rick Schmidt with DPW and Jim and Dianne Nickel. 1. Recommend attorney Abts finalizes changes as directed by council and amendment to our current sidewalk ordinance. 2. Recommend awarding the 3rd Street water and sewer contract to Precision Grading & Utilities at a cost not to exceed $115,866.40. 3. Recommend autorizing the Certified Survey Map for Peckham Road to be recorded. 4. Recommend not selling a portion of lot 22 at Brown Trout Court at this time due to possible future needs of the city. 5. Discussed establishing a quiet zone for the Domtar Railroad crossing at 1st Street and Market Street. 6. Discussed hiring Solarus to install updated equipment in order to establish a stronger WIFI signal at the wastewater and municipal garage area. 7. Discussed next steps for SCADA upgrades at the water, wastewater plants, lift stations, wells and water tower. Respectfully submitted, Moved by L. Carried Public Safety To the Honorable Mayor and members of the Nekoosa Common Council: A Public Safety Committee meeting was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 2023 at 4:30 PM in the Nekoosa Council Chambers. Members present were: Brian Krubsack - Chairman, Brad Hamilton - Secretary, Mike Kumm and Dan Downing. Also in attendance were Shawn Woods: Police Chief, Fire Chief Mike Hartje, Asst. Fire Chief Dave Rheinschmidt, Larry Krubsack and Rick Schmidt with DPW. 1. Discussed Police Dept. monthly report. 2. Discussed Fire Dept. reports. 3. Engine 3 is back in service. 4. Received FEMA grant for $15,000.00 5. Recommend donation of 14 sets of old turnout gear, and outdated ambulance gear to Firefighters United Wisconsin/Nicaragua project.
