OF THE NEW BRAUNFELS CITY COUNCIL - SPECIAL
REGULAR MEETING OF MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2023
AGENDA
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Linnartz called the meeting to order at 4:34 p.m.
CALL OF ROLL: CITY SECRETARY
Councilmember Ryan arrived at 4:36 p.m.
Mayor Pro Tem Bowers arrived at 4:37 p.m.
Present 7 - Mayor Neal Linnartz, Councilmember Andres Campos,
Councilmember Christopher Willis, Mayor Pro Tem Harry
Bowers, Councilmember Lawrence Spradley, Councilmember
Mary Ann Labowski, and Councilmember April Ryan
INVOCATION: MAYOR PRO TEM BOWERS
The invocation did not take place.
1. WORKSHOP
A) Presentation and direction to staff on the possible expansion of Parks
& Recreation fitness and programming services.
Mayor Linnartz read the aforementioned item.
Jordan Matney, Jared Werner, and Robert Camareno presented the
item to council using a powerpoint and answered questions.
The following individuals spoke at this time: Marsha Rogers, I. Rani,
Gloria Kauffeld, Theresa Nichols, David Warmke
Council provided direction for the City to no longer evaluate moving
into the Resolute Center to create a new recreation center.
2. EXECUTIVE SESSION
In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Ch. 551, the
City Council may convene in a closed session to discuss any of the items listed on
this agenda. Any final action or vote on any executive session item will be taken in
open session.
There were no executive session items at this time.

3. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION AND TAKE ANY NECESSARY
ACTION RELATING TO THE EXECUTIVE SESSION AS DESCRIBED

Mayor Linnartz adjourned at 5:44 p.m.
