NEW PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT COMMISSION MEETING John Knisley Municipal Centre Tuesday September 12th, 2023 IN ATTENDANCE: Dan Lanzer, Brian Marsh, Noah Porter, Josh Limbacher, Don Kennedy (chair), Red Hvizdos, Larry Lowdermilk, Yamini Gowda MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 6:00pm by Don Kennedy 1. Larry Lowdermilk sent the July Minutes out for review prior to the meeting. Brian Marsh motions to approve, Josh Limbacher seconds. The motion passes with no abstentions. 2. Reports a. Restaurant – No report this month, Larry Lowdermilk will report at the next meeting. b. Airport Manager – i. Monthly Cash Flow – Red Hvizdos reported that 4,742.64 gallons of 100LL and 823.77 of Jet A were purchased in August. Hangar rents totaled $3,370.00, 25 maintenance fees were collected for $625.00, and the courtesy car was used 24 times. ii. Monthly Safety Inspection – Red Hvizdos reported that they are still waiting on the Crew Car signs. Waiting on return of lights and purchase of new lights. A transformer will also need installed for the lighting. Southway Fencing fixed the fence. The lights and beacon display needs checked by an electrician due to tripping breaker. iii. Dan Lanzer motions to approve the airport manager report. Brian Marsh seconds. The motion passes with no abstentions. c. Financial Report – This was also postponed until next meeting. d. Michael Baker International (MBI) – Yamini Gowda Yamini advised that shelly and sands were contacted regarding the crack seal on the runway. Yamini advised on the following projects: i. Task order #09 – Closeout with As-builts to be submitted to ODOT in August 2023. REILs have been re-installed with new boards as of August 2, 2023. ii. Task order #12 – Grant closeout submitted to FAA for review. No update as of Sept 12, 2023. iii. Task order #01 – FAA grant received on August 24th, 2023. Coordinated with Shelly & Sands about construction start date. Tentative start in Spring of 2024.  iv. Task order #02 – Contract was executed by city and MBI. Executed contact sent to city. v. Miscellaneous – FAA Annual planning call to be scheduled in November. vi. Action Item Summary – Request authorization to submit TWY A construction contract for execution. Yamini passed out a copy of this contract. vii. Josh Limbacher motions to approve the report, Dan Lanzer seconds. The motion passes with no abstentions. 3. Old Business a. Don Kennedy had not yet spoken with service director, there is still plenty of time to meet with him and determine amount rents will be raised. 4. New Business a. None 5. Other Business a. Don Kennedy was not happy with the airport sign designs he received. He will continue to look at options and advise at next meeting. 6. Good and Welfare a.
