ADJOURNMENT  Airport Commission Meeting Minutes 6:00 PM - Wednesday, February 26, 2025 Council Chambers The Airport Commission of the City of New Richmond was called to order on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present: PRESENT: Mary Hailey, Josh Ulrich, Lucian Banitz, Mike Montello ABSENT: Craig Kittel, Matt Brotzler, Kirk Hexum OTHERS Mike Demulling, Noah Wiedenfeld, Mary Kay Rice, Jim Zajkowski, Kristy PRESENT: Johnson CALL TO ORDER Meeting was convened at 6:00pm and called to order at 6:12pm. ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mary Hailey made a motion to adopt the Agenda as presented. Lucian Banitz seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Josh Ulrich made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 2, 2024 Aiport Commission meeting. Lucian Banitz seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. AIRPORT COMPLIANCE STATUS Mike Demulling, Airport Manager, shared that all pavement inspections are completed; the stormwater discharge monitoring was completed the first week of January. AIRPORT UPDATE Mike Demulling mentioned the newsletter was sent out and highlighted upcoming events such as the fly-in and car show on May 17th and Friday Memorial Library is hosting Touch-a-Truck event at the airport on May 20th. Also, there is an Airport Master Plan Committee meeting set for March 19th at 7pm. Mike highlighted New Richmond Regional Airport based Perceptive Avionics, co-owned by commission member Lucian Banitz, on receiving the award for St. Croix EDC 2024 emerging business of the year. Airport Commission Meeting February 26, 2025 WATER UTILITY DISCUSSION There was discussion on contracting with SEH to look at the feasibility of having water available at the New Richmond Airport. It was suggested that the commission also consider having their own water system. Lucian Banitz made a motion supporting SEH contracting with the City and doing a study of water availability and the feasibility of having a self-contained water system at the New Richmond Airport. Mary Hailey seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. CORPORATE HANGAR AREA DESIGN There was discussion regarding the north apron and corporate hangar area layout. Current plans indicate a hangar may be available for construction on lot 11-15. A better use of the site is for aircraft parking and servicing. Mike Montello made a motion in support of having no hangar on lot 11-15 and designating the area as a future aircraft parking, charging and fueling area. Mary Hailey seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. HANGAR LEASES Mike Demulling shared with the commission the lease changes from the last six months. They include the following: August 12, 2024, Hangar 5-1; lease termination issued to BRW Properties RNH LLC, new lease issued to Jim and Judy Bittner January 1, 2025, Hangar 2-1; lease termination issue to Brian Meyer, new lease issued to Robert Perkins February 14, 2025, Hangar 4-7; lease termination issued to James and Linda Letourneau, new lease issued to Elmo Aero Ltd. February 26, 2025, Hangar 11-21; new lease issued to L2 Holdings IV LLC February 26, 2005, Hangar 24-3; new lease issued to Gregg Aviation There was discussion regarding changing the lease expiration date to June 30, 2050. Mike Montello made a motion to accept the lease changes and amend the existing leases to reflect a new expiration date of June 30, 2050. Josh Ulrich seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. COMMUNICATION AND MISCELLANEOUS ADJOURNMENT Mike Montello made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:38pm. Lucian Banitz seconded the motion. Carried unanimously.
