ADJOURNMENT  Forward New Richmond Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 12:00 PM Council Chambers The Forward New Richmond Committee was called to order on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 12:00 PM, in the Council Chambers, with the following members present: PRESENT: Mike Montello, Susan Lockwood, Rob Kreibich, Cathy Longtin, Karl Skoglund, Summer Seidenkranz, and Heather McAbee ABSENT: Ryan Shervey, Carrie Borgstrom OTHERS Noah Wiedenfeld, Katrina Berg, Beth Thompson, Jamie Larson PRESENT: CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL ADOPTION OF AGENDA Mike Montello made a motion to adopt the Agenda as presented. Heather McAbee seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. CONSENT AGENDA Karl Skoglund made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda as presented Susan Lockwood seconded the motion. Carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS FUTURE LAND USE Katrina explained that the purpose of the Future Land Use map is to create the framework for future development and how zoning is established within the City. While focusing on the Southwestern Quadrant of the City and extraterritorial jurisdiction, Katrina led a discussion to brainstorm what aspects about different cities FNR members admire. Two areas they focused on are the Willow River and County Highway A. Katrina introduced an exercise where she presented maps and FNR members were asked to color portions of the map as they would like to see the future land use designation in those areas. CHAMBER OF COMMERCE UPDATES Forward New Richmond Committee Meeting October 19, 2022 Rob Kreibich shared that the Chamber of Commerce will be rolling out a new project called "Welcome Home". All new homeowners in the City of New Richmond will receive a "Welcome Home" packet. Included in this packet is information pertinant to ammenities and events within the City such as healthcare, education, retail, restaurants, upcoming events, etc. ADJOURNMENT Mike Montello made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 1:05PM. Forward New Richmond Committee Meeting October 19, 2022  MEMO Prepared for: Forward New Richmond Staff Contact: Noah Wiedenfeld Meeting: Forward New Richmond Committee - 14 Dec 2022 Subject: Strategic Plan BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Earlier this fall, an electronic survey was published to solicit feedback from the community as part of the development of the City of New Richmond's strategic planning process. Over 300 responses were received. A summary of the survey results can be found on the City's website, here: Survey Results. Staff will review a few highlights at the December meeting, but Forward New Richmond members are encouraged to review the results in greater detail at their own convenience. In September, Forward New Richmond members also completed a SWOT analysis exercise (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) and responded to other discussion questions. Responses were compiled and will be shown at the December meeting. Staff will provide an update showing where we are currently in the strategic planning process and next steps, and then facilitate additional discussion with Forward New Richmond as we work towards identifying goals, objectives, and strategies focused on economic development.
