Inbound Hans Joohs Intern - Samuel Knoops  Intern dates September 2 through November 24  Schell's Brewery will host Samuel for his internship 5.3. Update relating to Jensen Motors or Chuck Spaeth Ford offering a rental car for Samuel 6. OLD BUSINESS 6.1. 2025 Brat Stand 7  Report on the June 22, 2025 brat stand event  Next brat stand date is Monday, August 25, 2025 Brat Stand August 25, 2025 7. NEW BUSINESS 7.1. Page 2 of 7 Minutes of the Sister Cities Commission Monday, June 2, 2025 5:15 pm Roll call Members present: Chair Jayne Maday-Hulke, Carolyn Marti-Smith, John Vorwerk, Ellie Sveine, Larry Mack, Dick Seeboth, Ron Wendinger, Brian Filzen, and Kathleen Backer. Absent: Tony Beranek Meeting Called to Order Chair Jayne Maday-Hulke called meeting to order at 5:15. Approval of Minutes from May 5th, 2025 Dick Seeboth made a motion to accept the minutes, second by Larry Mack. Motion carried. Financial Report ending May 31, 2025 Larry Mack made a motion to accept the report as given in the agenda, second by Carolyn Marti-Smith. Motion carried. Hans Joohs Cultural Exchange Program Our outgoing exchange intern, Martha Balge, is in Germany May 25 – August 15. She will be working at the Danube Office on an event in July called U(i)mweltwoche. The incoming exchange intern, Samuel Knoops, will be in New Ulm, MN September 2 – November 24, working at Schell’s Brewery. Dick and Sharon Seeboth will host Samuel the first 6 weeks, Jim and Konnie Bartels will host the last 6 weeks. Brian Filzen will contact Jensen Motors and Chuck Spaeth Ford about donating a car for our intern. Jayne Maday-Hulke volunteered to pick up Samuel from the airport. Ellie Sveine also reported that she could do this if needed. Old Business Brat Stand at Cash Wise Foods. The dates will be Sunday June 22, 2025 and Monday August 25, 2025. Sign-up sheets have been sent out by Lisa P. for members to sign up. We still need more volunteers on August 25th. Jayne Maday-Hulke stated that the signs and supplies are in the City Hall storage area and will bring them along with crockpot and roasters needed for running the brat stand. Vi Plagge, Denise Drill, Shirley Lindquist, and Joe Meyer were present to give a summary of the Narren trip to Germany in February of this year. Each person gave a brief summary of their experiences and had pictures, and mementos of the trip. They all stated it was a wonderful trip and would like to invite the groups from Germany to come to New Ulm for a visit. Page 3 of 7 New Business We will need to start working on Welcome for Samuel on September 8th, to be held at the Kegel Klub.
