Community Events Committee Meeting

Village Hall, 620 W. Main St., Newburg, Wisconsin
CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
- President David DeLuka - Clerk Brandy Loveland Seelow - Deputy Clerk Heather Wellman
- Trustee Brooke Stangel - Trustee Paul Zimdars
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one
Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing
the flag with the right hand over the heart. A person in uniform should instead remain silent and render the
military salute. Veterans may choose either method. (4 USC Sec. 4).
CORRECTION AND APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES
1. Meeting Minutes - None at this time as this is the initial meeting of this committee.
NEW BUSINESS
Introductions Village officials and residents introduced themselves beginning with Heather
Wellman - Deputy Clerk / Treasurer, President DeLuka, Brandy Loveland Seelow - Clerk
/Treasurer, Paul Zimdars - Trustee, Brooke Stangel - Trustee, Jane Probeleski 230 W. Main

ADMINISTRATION
Clerk Loveland. Including updates on items such as Board direction and recommendations, upcoming events,
events in planning stages, or financial information for events.
2. Nominations for Committee Chair & Co-Chair

Overview of Community Event ideas
1. Michelle Sadowski volunteered to be the Committee Chair and Paul Zimdars
was nominated by President DeLuka as Co-Chair.
2. It was discussed that this committee would be more informal with open
discussion, but depending on how big this committee gets and the direction it
goes we may need to implement a more formal meeting structure and
implement Roberts Rules in the future.
3. The group agreed upon the 2nd Thursday of the month at 530pm for all future
meetings unless posted otherwise.
4. The group discusses the formation of a the new Community Events Committee
to plan and organize events for the Village of Newburg. They brainstormed
ideas for engaging the community and also discussed the upkeep and
embellishments of the local parks including forming a 'Friends of the Parks'

3. Fall Festival - October 26, 2024
Location - Presidents Park, Time

Trick or Treating 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Bonfire
1. The timeline for the day of the Fall Festival was discussed. There were
activities discussed, attendees volunteered to look further into items and report
back at the next meeting to firm up plans.
2. Kids activities 2:00pm - 4:00pm
a. Kids Face Painting
b. Costume Contest - Kids age groups & Adults
c. Pumpkin Bowling
d. Bounce House
e. Hay Ride
f. Gourd Painting
3. Trick or treating hours will be moved to 4:00pm - 530pm so that folks can attend
the bonfire at a reasonable time, 6pm. Trunk or Treat also proposed.
4. The idea for Food trucks to be present during fall festival was brought up.
4. Christmas In the Village - December 7th, 2024

Social Gathering at Village Hall
1. Coloring contest, ornament, Riveredge,
2. Parade - 6:30pm
3. Tree decorating contest will be displayed throughout Downtown, voting will be
done by the public inside Village Hall on the evening of Christmas in the Village.
