MINUTES Community Events Committee Meeting 5:30 PM - Thursday, November 14, 2024 Village Hall, 620 W. Main St., Newburg, Wisconsin CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL - Michelle Sadowski, Chairperson - Clerk Brandy Loveland Seelow - Trustee Paul Zimdars, Co-Chair - Deputy Clerk Heather Wellman - Trustee Brooke Stangel - Administrator Nate Wendleborn All members were present expect Clerk Loveland whom was excused, the meeting was called to order at 5:30pm. PUBLIC FORUM Members of the public are invited to address the Village Board regarding any topic of public concern. Those who wish to speak are asked to clearly state their full name and address while standing at the podium when addressing the Village Board. CORRECTION AND APPROVAL OF PAST MINUTES 1. Meeting Minutes Minutes were verbally approved by the committee with no corrections. NEW BUSINESS CHAIRPERSON Michelle Sadowski. Chairperson will lead updates on events and project. 2. Update Nothing was presented from the Committee Chair. EVENTS 3. Fall Festival Recap of Event  It was suggested to have more kid friendly food.  The bonfire needs more solid pieces of wood next year. 4. Christmas in the Village - December 7th, 2024  The Christmas tree is being donated by The Falkner Family in remembrance of Fritz Falkner who was the 1st Village president.  Where is the parade being advertised? What are the times of all the events and can we get them out asap again?  How many float entries do we have? o There are now 4 parade entries, please see attachments for details  Community Events Committee November 14, 2024  Prize money settled yet?  How many sugar cookies do we need for the kids to decorate?  Nate and DPW will coordinate the drop off of the Christmas tree at Village Hall  4 Parade entries along with NFD  Cookies and hot cocoa for after the parade at Village Hall  Tree light at 630pm (following parade)  Santa at Kids Community Center Event  Volunteers are needed to set up at Village Hall prior to the parade. 5. What is the next Village event after Christmas, would it be Easter?  Easter would be the next event.  Community Events Committee will meet again February 13th to start the Easter Event Planning.
