Village of Newburg
Community Events Committee
Thursday, May 8, 2025 – 5:30 P.M.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the next meeting of the Community Events Committee, Washington & Ozaukee
Counties, Wisconsin is scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 620 W. Main St.
I. Call to order and roll call.
- Michelle Sadowski, Chairperson - Clerk Brandy Loveland Seelow
- Trustee, Co-Chair - Deputy Clerk Heather Wellman
- Trustee Brooke Stangel - Administrator Nate Wendelborn
- President DeLuka
All members were present including President DeLuka, and the meeting was called to order at 5:30pm.
II. Correction and Approval of minutes from April 10, 2025 (possible action), minutes attached (1)
Minutes were verbally approved by the committee with no corrections.

a. Chairperson – Michelle Sadowski, verbal update
Nothing was presented from the Committee Chair.
V. Events
a. Easter Egg Hunt
• Recap and make notes for next year.
Committee members offered ideas for next year, such as:
Increasing the 0-3 egg area
PA system needed
Food Trucks
Possibly giving smaller children extra eggs
Set up earlier, start earlier
Golden eggs that children can claim prizes instead of having eggs with the same prizes
Easter bunny assistant
Hold @ Welcome Home
b. Fall Fest
• Any new ideas?
• Are we going to try and get the bounce house again as that went over great with the kids?
Can Nate get it donated again?
Administrator Wendelborn suggested purchasing a bounce house for the village if he can
get one at a reasonable cost.
• Are we going to get actual wood to be donated, not just brush so that the fire will last
longer?
DPW has began collecting wood and brush.
• Do we still want myself to go to the pumpkin farm to get the bulk order again or did
someone else know of somewhere cheaper?
Jane P. will check with Amish to get pricing.
• Just want to confirm it will be the last Saturday in October so October 25th to align with
Trick or Treat?
This will be held on October 25th with time to be finalized in September.
• Volunteers are needed, Heather will publish in the July Bridges and Brooke will reach out
to schools to see if anyone needs community service hours.
c. Christmas in the Village

Superhero Celebrate Christmas
• Childrens Event

• Parade
To be determined later.
• Village Social Gathering
To be held at Falkner Park along with tree lighting
Recap notes from last year:
• Parade participation increased from last year and was well attended.
• A Gmail account will be set up through the village for the Committee Chair and Village
Employees to use for parade float sign up going forward.
• More volunteers are needed next year to help with hot cocoa at Village Hall during tree
lighting.
• The tree lighting was discussed, and the plan is to have a large pine planted over at Falkner
Park this summer to use for future tree lighting events.
• Committee needs to start planning for parade participants in June of 2025, will add to May
2025 agenda.
• Announcements – Next Community Events Committee Meeting is scheduled for June 12th, 2025 at 5:30PM

Board, 173 West 20 533,494 NW 2nd 408 (1993), such attendance may be considered a meeting of the respective governmental body. This notice is given so that
members of other governmental bodies of the village may attend the meeting without violating the open meeting law.
Person with disabilities requiring special accommodations for attendance at the meeting should contact the Village Hall at (262) 675-2160 at least one (1) day prior to the
meeting.
