SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF January 17, 2022 Meeting was called to order by Mayor Patrick M. Cadle at 7:00pm. General fund: $30,365.74 Cemetery fund: $5477.83 Police fund: $21,938.39 Street fund: $5401.71 Water fund: $149,434.50 Sewer: $15,772.86 Computer Funds $133.45 Street Levy: $2,248.71 MVL $4,812.02 Total All Funds: $235,585.21 PAY ORDINANCE #02: Motion by Allen and seconded by Jan to approve Pay Ordinance #02 in the amount of $235,585.21. Debbie Heifner made a presentation about the Cy Young Park flag and why it should be up year-round. COMMITTEE REPORTS BUILDINGS & GROUNDS- CHAIRPERSON DAVID SHEPHERD: Absent SEWER & PUBLIC WORKS & COMMUNITY EVENTS- CHAIRPERSON JAN MCCUNE: Attended Board of Public affairs meeting last Wednesday, and they elected officers: Al Miskimen is President, Don Walkup is Vice President. Jared had 2 bids for meter readers, they decided on the $88,700 bid. The installation of the meters will take place over a 3-year period. Jared has agreed to take Jan on a tour to better acclimate her to the Sewer plant. FINANCE & LONG-TERM PLANNING- CHAIRPERSON ALLEN COLLINS: Nothing to report STREETS, SIDEWALKS & RECREATION- CHAIRPERSON JAY LAMBES: Absent PUBLIC SAFETY & PUBLIC RELATIONS CHAIRPERSON MICHAEL WISE: Talked about changing the business signs that advertise nameless businesses stuck in the ground and the safety problems it brings like human trafficking. He is going to pull up any signs that he sees, and wants to come up with a way to stop them from cropping up. LEGISLATION & PERSONNEL- CHAIRPERSON SUSAN LITTLE: 18 year old people are allowed to serve liquor now according to the Ohio Liquor laws. General assembly meets Jan 19th and will attend. DEPARMENT REPORTS: STREET: Absent CEMETERY: Absent POLICE DEPARTMENT- CHIEF HOLLAND: Resignation of Rochelle Conrad as Part Time Dispatcher. Motion brought forward by Susan and seconded by Michael. Motion to hire Pierson Lavigne and Hunter Bishop as part time dispatchers brought forward by Allen and Jan seconded. The Village is applying for a grant through the EPA for $100,00 for surveying what is under the cement at the Simonds Factory grounds. We have developers interested in putting housing developments near the factory site and would like to get everything cleaned up to bring in more interest and development.
