FISCAL OFFICER- LISA SPILLMAN: Lisa is helping the Cemetery and Police departments with
grant applications. Applied to the Reeves foundation for the dog park at Simonds Heller. The
pool season is underway, there are 18 pool parties currently, 60 pool passes sold.
WATER/WASTE-WATER – JARED MCFARLAND:
BPA approved hiring Justin Green and Lane Gribble (to transfer to the sewer department)
effective 6/30/25
Council is asked to approve Justin Green’s time worked toward vacation time made by Allen
and seconded by Jay. Effective 6/30/25

FIRE-CHIEF PARKS: The department has responded to 140 calls for the year, 12 calls since the
last report. Members provided cooling stations for the Hero Hustle and participated in the 4 th of
July parade at Rocky Fork. Thermal imaging cameras have been ordered with grant funds.
EMERGENCY SERVICES:
TRI COUNTY- Absent
MAYOR: The power washing downtown is almost finished. The tuckpointing will be next. The
Best Cleaners demolition is moving forward, it was delayed due to legal issues. Mark Brooks is
set to retire from the Wastewater department.
NEW BUSINESS:
15-2025 Ordiance By The Council Of The Village Of Newcomerstown To Amend Zoning
Ordinance 12-2021 To Regulate The Storage Of Firewood Within The Corporation Limits Of The
Village And Declaring An Emergency -1st reading
OLD BUSINESS:
Executive session to discuss the purchase and/or sale of land-no action expected.
