CITY OF NEWPORT, KY SPECIAL CAUCUS MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Monday, August 5, 2024 MINUTES Call to Order: Mayor Guidugli Jr. called a special caucus meeting to order on August 5, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the op Multipurpose Room of the Newport Municipal Building, 998 Monmouth Street. In attendance were: y Commissioner Radwanski, Commissioner Smith-Morrow, Commissioner Rechtin, Vice Mayor Fennell, Mayor Guidugli Jr., City Manager Thomas Fromme, Assistant City Manager John Hayden, City Attorney Billy Summe, Police Chief Christopher Fangman, and City Clerk Tiffany Myers. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS/PROPOSED LEGISLATION/CITY BUSINESS  lC Dennis Keene and Bob Yeager with KYTC gave updates on the 4th Street Bridge. PUBLIC FORUM AND COMMENTS ca  Lisa, a resident of Covington, gave a few suggestions for KYTC to consider. For example, by rerouting RT 8, having drivers maintain a low speed and keep the neighborhood's aesthetics.  A resident of South Newport wanted to ensure that the rowing club could still access the landing area during and after the bridge's completion.  Jason Kramb, 627 Linden Avenue, asked about the connectivity between sidewalks, the bridge, and ffi the parks around the bridge and wanted to make sure the city will have more routes for pedestrians than the three we currently have. ADJOURNMENT O With no further business to discuss, Mayor Guidugli Jr. adjourned the meeting.
