CAUCUS – VILLAGE OF NICHOLS January 11, 2022 The Caucus was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Terry Scheller with Trustees Kathy Krull, Jerry Krull, Brent Gerdts, and Tom Daniels present. Also present were Roger Ort and Linda Hoes. Pledge of Allegiance: Recited Nominations were opened for two Village Trustee positions currently held by Jerry Krull and Tom Daniels. Motion by Brent/Terry to nominate Jerry Krull. Motion by Kathy/Brent to nominate Tom Daniels. There being no further Trustee nominations, motion to close nominations by Terry/Kathy, carried. There being no further business, motion to adjourn the Caucus by Terry/Kathy, carried. VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting January 11, 2022 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:45 p.m., with Trustees Kathy Krull, Jerry Krull, Brent Gerdts, and Tom Daniels present. Also present were Roger Ort and Linda Hoes. Agenda: Motion by Jerry/Kathy to approve the agenda, carried. Outagamie Cty. Police Report: no report. Minutes: Motion by Kathy/Brent to approve the December 14, 2021 minutes, carried. Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Jerry/Brent to approve, carried. Bills to Approve: Motion by Brent/Jerry to approve the bills on Village checks #18461–18490 and four electronic withdrawals and Water Utility checks #2586-#2589, carried. Black Creek Police / Municipal Court Reports: th  Reviewed Chief James’ 4 Quarter, 2021 Incident Response Summary.  Reviewed the status of Abatement at W5631 Main St.  Reviewed email from S. Hilgenberg’s parole officer. Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  Proficiency testing is coming up.  WWTP Permit: No information received on the permit renewal.  Garbage Bins: Purchasing 10 bins from Harters at $20 each.  Trees: There are two trees near the south side of the ballfield that need to be cut down. Unfinished Business:  USDA Grant: Discussed the interim loan and how soon funds may be needed.  ARPA: Recent emails on how funds can be used will be forwarded to Board members.  Security Cameras: Tabled.  Comprehensive Plan: Tabled. New Business:  Ballot Placement: As all necessary forms were returned by the nominated candidates, a drawing for ballot placement was conducted. Raymond T Daniels will be first on the April th 5 Spring Election ballot and Brent Gerdts listed second.  Polling Place: Motion by Kathy/Terry to designate the Nichols Community Center as the polling location for the 2022 elections with the Nichols Rural Fire Station as the backup location, carried.  Election Inspectors: Motion by Kathy/Brent to approve the following election inspectors for the 2022 elections: Beth Ort (CI), Paula Scheller (CI), Laurene Ferge, Ginger Casper, Toni Flora, Carol Uhlenbrauch, Deb Mielke, carried.  CLA Engagement Letter: Motion by Jerry/Tom to approve the Engagement letter to have CLA, LLP conduct the 2021 Village and Water Utility audits, carried.  Fox Cities Builders: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to sign the construction contract, carried. NOTICE OF CAUCUS -- VILLAGE OF NICHOLS January 11, 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Caucus for the for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Spring Election to be held on April 5, 2022, will be held in the Village of Nichols on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. The Caucus will be held at the Nichols Community Center, N9065 Krull Rd, Nichols, Wisconsin. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that at said Caucus nominations will be accepted for the following offices: TRUSTEE for a two year term, presently held by Jerry Krull whose term will expire on the third Tuesday of April, 2022. TRUSTEE for a two year term, presently held by R. Thomas Daniels whose term will expire on the third Tuesday of April, 2022. Note: Two (2) names can be placed on the ballot for each position open.
