Public Budget Hearing November 12, 2024 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:00 pm with Trustees Mark Simpson, Rebecca Gottsacker, Jerry Krull, and Kathy Krull. Also present were Roger Ort and RoseMary Stingle, Officer Fischer and Mark Engel. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2024 Budget: The 2024 Proposed Budget was reviewed with no changes made. Made a motion to adjourn: Motion made by Mark/Rebecca carried.  VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting November 12, 2024 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:05 p.m., with Trustees Kathy Krull, Jerry Krull, Rebecca Gottsacker, and Mark Simpson present. Also present were Roger Ort, RoseMary Stingle, Officer Fischer and Mark Engel. Pledge: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Outagamie County Police: Officer Fischer had nothing to report. Agenda: Motion by Mark to approve the agenda, second by Becky, carried. Minutes: Motion by Kathy to approve the minutes of the October 29 regular meeting, second by Mark, carried. Treasurer’s Report/Bank Statements: Motion by, Becky, second by Jerry, carried. Bills to Approve/VISA statement: Motion by Kathy to approve the bills paid on Village checks #19431 - #19457, second by Becky, carried. Black Creek Police / Municipal Court Reports: (None received) Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  DNR toxicity test failed. Now additional testing needs to be run. Chemicals will be adjusted to correct.  2 meters to change before all Midwest Meters are completed.  Will keep 6 meters on hand for backup.  Winterizing  Street sweepers are coming soon.  Snow ordinances in next water bills. Unfinished Business:  Razing Order: Asbestos test and WE energies shut off happening this week. Raze will happen next week.   LRIP Project: Roger and Terry to Mark out exact footage for Bids.  Review Corporate Network Solutions subscriptions and comparing them with Maplebreeze LLC. New Business:  Motion to accept Terry/Mark, carried. The mill rate of 5.335465.  Motion to accept Jerry/Mark, carried. Garbage Rates are being raised from $36.00 to $46.00 to cover garbage increase effective January 1, 2025.  Made a motion by Mark/Terry, carried to terminate our contract with Paul Hermes.  Made changes to new building inspector contract.  Discussed information on New Fire Truck funds available for January 2025 & August 2025.  Roger retirement December 31, 2025: Looking to hire replacement October 2025 to train from Roger. Gathering information for a job description.  Aware of the First Notice of Non-Compliance 5th year.  Fox Valley Humane Contract-Becky looking into other shelters and options  Mark Engel stated the water problem in the ditch west side of Buckeyes. Both ends are plugged and storm sewer backed up. Would like the Village to check grades & see what is going on. It was suggested that we shoot a hose through it. Roger and Terry to look.  Was suggested that we possibly get information for newcomers to the Village. Kathy will research.  Village Caucus, January 14 @ 6:00 pm to nominate 3 Village Board seats.
