Jacqueline Horton, 6132 Edward Street, spoke regarding gun violence and cameras on downtown streets and in parking garages. Brianna Bennette, 629 Longdale Crescent, Chesapeake, spoke requesting resources for youth programming and safety measures to stop gun violence. Susan Neal Matousek, 8214 Andrew Lane, spoke regarding crime prevention measures, including more lighting on Simmons and other streets, additional resources for kids, and indoor gyms. Vincent LaSalle, 1342 Reservoir Avenue, spoke regarding ARPA funding for public housing to improve living conditions. Sauda Speede, 8600 Myrtle Avenue, spoke regarding using ARPA funds to open community centers, free activities for youth and other cost-efficient programs. Leila Vann, 219 Granby Street, Unit 20, spoke on behalf of the Downtown Norfolk Civic League, expressed gratitude for increased police and City leadership presence and temporary cameras on Granby Street, and requested increased pay for Police.
