Norman Open Streets Event: Sunday April 15, 2018 1-5 pm see volunteer registration at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b45acaa2ea5fb6-open Meghan showed the group where we are on Webster (between Apache and Sims) and asked for more people to volunteer if possible. • Sunni agreed to bring a small table and chairs • Tom agreed to bring ½ tennis balls • Michelle will email Meghan a waiver used at previous events • Michelle will bring sponges and other rodeo supplies she might be able to get • 5 cones from James Briggs • 9 cones - Meghan B. Update on Bike Skills Park design contract spring 2018 engagement & BAC responsibilities (James) No news discussed C. Discuss potential for Single-track MTB path at Ruby Grant Park: (Chris/Tom) Chris Southern reviewed the plans for Ruby Grant and only identified about 1 to 1/5 miles that could be used for a single-track. He noted that other tracks under 4 miles were not used as they were simply too short. D. Status reports: • City of Norman Updates: Bike Share Prez to Community Development & Transportation Subcommittee (Angelo, James) Outcome of the presentation on Bikeshare – City Council has asked that staff or a committee (details still being worked out) look into issues of rebranding the Crimson Cruisers for beyond OU area, to look into corporate sponsorship to fund it or more of it, and to consider phasing in more bikes in that program as funding emerges. Bus with wrap (3 feet please for bikes) was in an accident and the bus was totaled. No more monthly bill on the wrap. What will happen may depend on the settlement for the accident. Road diet striping projects (2) will start Monday! David Riesland asked if there was a volunteer to do pedestrian and bicycle counts this spring for the national bicycle and pedestrian documentation project. Meghan indicated she cannot do it in April or May. Tom indicated he would see if he could drum up volunteers (non-students because they will be in finals) if Meghan could send him the materials. Looking at Wed April 25th and Sat 28th. Meghan will send Angelo the quotes on the EcoCounter batteries and software. • OU Crimson Cruisers Bikeshare (Kyle) • Web-based Rider-friendly Bike Maps Norman regular map – map was given to members to review last meeting, if you have concerns you need to send those concerns to James as soon as possible. Meghan needs to send James some infographics for draft map. E. Upcoming meetings / topics of interest to cycling in Norman • Norman Open Streets Sunday, April 15, 2018 1-5 pm • Earth Day 2018: Sunday, April 22, 2018 Noon – 5 pm Reaves Park • Bike to Work Day/Week May, 2018: MAY 18th Group worked out revised routes to Andrews Park. James needs to send routes to ACOG asap.
