Roll Call and Introduction of Visitors:
Members present: Hal Cantwell – Chair and recreational cyclist, Former racer. BLN chair
Chris Southern – Mountain Bikes
Sunni Bailey-Koszarek – Community and Social Media, Vice Chair
Michelle Carr – Former racer and now advocate for local bicycle use, Jackson PTA
Lee Krumholz – Recreational and commuter, BikeOklahoma, Secretary

• Approval of September Meeting Minutes- Minutes from previous meeting
approved by unanimous verbal vote.
o 2020 BAC Meeting Schedule handed out
o Michelle Carr is resigning appointment to BAC
o City of Norman Updates:
o Briggs discussed Creekside Bike Skills Park. Creekside Park update. Grand opening occurred.
OEF and BLN present along with BAC, 2 council members and the Mayor. Parks dept. will be
making a map of the park. Progressive Bike Ramps company will provide maintenance-training.
Rules are recommended, no enforcement and open dawn to dusk.
o More Art bike racks are being made. Community bike park will be going in at Sooner and Franklin.
Ruby grant park will be developed construction start soon. 16 month time to complete. Artistic bike
racks are available and will be put on W. Lindsey. City is looking for suggestions for other racks.
Planned skate park design meeting scheduled and will discuss a bike component to the skate park.
o Riesland discussed 24th Ave. East, bond project construction has begun at the south end near
Lindsey. The bike lane on West Main over Brookhaven Creek is not yet finished.
o ACOG bicycle count, will take place Oct. 26th, 10-12 AM. Locations for manual counts are. Legacy
trail (1) near Acres (2) near Eufaula, (3) Constitution and Oak Tree, (4) 36th and Rock Creek and
one other location. Counting Pedestrians and cyclists in each direction. Volunteers will be needed -
SignUp Genius created and emailed.
o Jordan Evans. ACOG had a BPAC meeting. They went over the regional map of bike and
pedestrian facilities. Mentioned that there are grants available for congestion and air quality
mitigation that would be useful for funding bike infrastructure. Bike sharing and bike parking. Grant
proposals greater than $20K.
o City-wide cycle maps and as well as the BFC application on agenda for next month .
o Jackson Bike Rodeo went well with 65 kids attending. 35 helmets were given away. 2 police
officers helped out.
